Estórias para um turismo slow. Contributos para o marketing na Serra Algarvia (original) (raw)
This thesis, developed under the Master in Marketing from the School of Economics, University of Algarve, showcases an investigation whose primary goal is to collect stories that may contribute to the further development of slow products under a marketing strategy for Serra Algarvia. This is a research with an exploratory nature and is developed through qualitative methodologies. Its relevance relies on the fact, that only a few studies focus on storytelling in literature, particularly narratives of the residents. This investigation aims for deepening knowledge in this perspective. Empirical research was carried out in a slow territory in the Algarve: the Serra Algarvia and the Cittaslow of São Brás de Alportel. The methodological strategy favored multiple views, through interviews, both with responsibles for land management and with residents, having been privileged an approach of Storytelling using the field diary. The results allow to carry out a characterization of São Brás de Alportel as a Cittaslow, taking into account the ways of life of residents in the Serra, ways of transportation and slow access, the passing of time at a slow pace and the stories supporting the following development of slow products to the Serra Algarvia, in a perspective of sustainability. The conclusions that were made, led to the creation of maps which presents the themes of the stories that will be told during pedestrian routes. In this way it is intended to suggest that this strategy is used to promote the development of marketing for the Slow Tourism in the Serra Algarvia.
