Constructivism is used as a powerful theoretical outlook to support teaching, learning, and curriculum in physical education and sport. The Constructivist Teaching Practices Inventory in Elementary Physical Education (CTPI-EPE) is a valid instrument for assessing in-service teachers. However, there is a need to translate constructivist teaching practices for PE into other languages. This study examined the validity of the Portuguese version of the adapted CTPI-EPE for Brazilian physical education preservice teachers (PST). The sample comprised of 869 physical education PSTs from Brazil. Data were collected through an online form. Aiken’s V was used to examine content validity, and Bayesian methods used for exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. The results showed adequate content and internal structure of the translated and adapted questionnaire. This study highlighted the validity of the Portuguese version of the CTPI-EPE, which could be considered an important instrument fo...
Comparison of the effects of constructivist learning on cognitive, affective and psychomotor fields applied in physical education courses, 2020
The aim of the study is to compare the effect of constructivist learning applied in physical education courses with concerning cognitive, affective and psychomotor domains on experimental and control groups. The experimental research method was used in the study. The study group consisted of 97 students consisting of 34 middle and 63 high school students, 52 of whom were in control and 45 of whom were in experimental group. The cognitive, affective and psychomotor field competencies of the students were determined and compared with the determined scales after applying one semester in the introduction and evaluation parts of the courses, conducted with constructivist learning. As a data collection tool; for cognitive domain; the cognitive information form prepared by the researcher, for affective domain; "Physical Education Course Attitude Scale for Secondary School Students" and "Attitude Scale for Physical Education lesson" for psychomotor domain; the application exam scale developed by the researcher were used. In the analysis of data; due to lack of normal distribution of data, Mann Whitney U, one of the nonparametric tests was used to analyze the differences in cognitive, affective and psychomotor domains of the groups after the application. According to the obtained data; a significant difference was found in favor of the experimental group according to the variable of experimental and control groups in the cognitive and psychomotor domains of the students. In the affective areas of the students, while there was no significant difference between middle school students in terms of experimental and control group pre-test post-test data, a significant difference was found in the control group data in high school students.

The aim was to identify the beliefs about teaching practices oriented to constructivism by Elementary Physical Education teachers of the Florianópolis Metropolitan Nucleus, in Santa Catarina, Brazil. In this quantitative and descriptive study, 129 Physical Education teachers from Elementary School answered a questionnaire to characterize the participants, and a translated and adapted version of the Constructivist Teaching Practices Inventory in Elementary Physical Education - CTPI-EPE. Descriptive statistic and binary logistic regression analysis were used, with the aid of the open source software “R”, version 3.6.1. The results revealed that regardless of personal, academic and professional characteristics, Physical Education teachers investigated perceive their teaching often oriented towards constructivism. It stands out, teachers with a temporary job often have beliefs related to teaching practices oriented towards general constructivism; teachers who did not participate in cour...

The Constructivist Teaching Practices Inventory in Elementary Physical Education (CTPI-EPE) was developed for the purpose of this study to assess teachers' expertise in constructivist-oriented physical education teaching. One hundred and eighty-three elementary physical education teachers completed the CTPI-EPE. Four subscales of the CTPI-EPE emerged from an exploratory factor analysis and were in line with major dimensions of constructivist-oriented teaching practices. The results established support for the reliability and validity of the CTPI-EPE that provided us with diagnostic information about identifying expertise in constructivist-oriented physical education teaching practices within the continuum from novice to expert teaching levels.
This study aims to explore the nature of the relationship between the quality of education of the PE and the school environment that revolves around the Sports and Physical Education lesson in high schools of the province of Mostaganem (Algeria). To achieve the objectives of this study, two questionnaires were designed. The first on the school environment and the second on the quality of education. A sample of 71 teachers spread across all high schools in the province of Mostaganem voluntarily took part in this study. The results showed a significant effect between the school environment and the quality of teaching physical education. This result allows to predict the quality of the teaching of physical education in high school requires a supportive school environment to meet the expectations and requirements of the discipline. EVALUATION OF TEACHER'S OPINIONS ABOUT CONSTRUCTIVIST APPROACH ENVIRONMENT 1
Theory of constructivism is an approach which is based on students and evaluates, interprets or structures new knowledge and previously acquired knowledge by compounding them in the mind. According to this approach, when knowledge is acquired in this way, it is more permanent in mind and forgetfulness decreases. This study was conducted to determine elementary school teacher's opinions about constructivist approach settings by taking some demographic variables into account. Total 30 teachers working in different departments in Şehit Selahettin Primary School bounded to Hakkari Provincial Directorate For National Education , composes the basis of the study. Necessary Data for the research was gathered by using constructivist learning environment scale. In the research, General Screening Model which is one of 'General Screening Models' was used. The validity and reliability coefficient of Constructivist Learning environment scale used in the research and made up of 30 items, were tested and the scale's Cronbach Alpha internal reliability coefficient was calculated as 0.91. According to results in the research, it was concluded that teachers had some essentials knowledge about constructivist learning, they used many features of constructivist learning in their lives and there was no statistical opinion difference between female and male teachers depending on gender in terms of constructivist learning.

Determination of Teacher Characteristics which Support Constructivist Learning Environments
Problem Statement: Exploring the variables that affect teachers' teaching approaches in learning environments is crucial to determine their response to new trends. Their teaching and learning characteristics set the success level of the new reforms. In addition, monitoring the usage of constructivist pedagogies and giving feedback about them are other crucial aims of this research Purpose of the Study: The purpose of this study was to find out the characteristics of primary school teachers which supported them prepare constructivist learning environments.
