The main aim of this study is to evaluate and analyse the research publication of the Institute of Nano Science and Technology, Mohali, from 2012 to 2021. The present study has been selected from the SCOPUS database for selecting affiliation Institute of Nano Science and Technology, Mohali, in the last ten years of research publications. The study revealed the growth & impact of publications, productive authors, subject-wise & document-wise distributions, collaborative countries & institutes/organizations, most productive journals, most frequent keywords, and highly cited papers. The study analysed the data using Excel and VOSviewer version 1.16.18 for visualizations. The researchers retrieved a total of 1,266 documents, including various types of documents such as articles, conferences proceedings, reviews, etc. The study reflects that the most productive author was A. K. Ganguli, with 104 papers, whereas the most preferred journal was Plant Cell Biotechnology and Molecular Biology, with 52 papers. The most collaborative country was the USA, with 55 publications, while the most collaborative institutes were Chandigarh University, with 271 papers. The study revealed how to grow research publications of INST, Mohali during study periods. The findings of this study can help library staff and Nano Science and Technology researchers to identify the most works and affiliated institutes.

The study investigates Nanotechnology Research during 1996 to 2020 using Scopus Database. It attempts to quantify the national contribution to Nanotechnology Research highlighting the growth of research in the SAARC nations using different scientometric indicators. The results of the study show the Growth Rate, Annual Growth percentage of the publications, most prolific author, application of Lotka's Law of Scientific Productivity, most prolific journal, institution, funding agency, geographical distribution and document forms of the publications in Nanotechnology during 1996 to 2020 downloaded in a suitable retrieval technique from the Scopus database. The results reveal that Indian Contribution in Nanotechnology Research is excellent among SAARC nations. Bhutan and Maldives have no record of Publication in Scopus database in the period taken for study.

In this study we present an analysis of the research trends in Pakistan in the field of nanoscience and nanotechnology. Starting with just seven publications in the year 2000, this number has steadily increased to 542 for the year 2011. Among the top 15 institutions with publications in nanotechnology 13 are universities and only two are R&D organizations. Almost 35 % of the research publications are in the field of material sciences followed by chemistry and physics in that order. The growth in the publications for period 2000-2011 is studied through relative growth rate and doubling time. The authorship pattern is measured by different collaboration parameters, like collaborative index, degree of collaboration, collaboration coefficient and modified collaboration coefficient. Finally the quality of papers is assessed by means of the h-index, g-index, hg-index and p-index.

This study highlights the publication analysis in nanotechnology research outputs in global level as identified the data in Web of Science (WoS) Core Collection database, Thomson Reuters, Philadelphia, USA. It is found that a total output of worldwide scholarly communications in the field of nanotechnology is 20825 during the period between 1989 and 2014. The maximum numbers of outputs of 7269 records (34.91 %) were published by USA which is placed in the first rank. The next position has got by China with 2121 research papers (=10.19%) and followed by Germany is in the third rank. The primary sources are articles with 14564 scholarly papers (=6525%) is ranked in the first place. To predict the value of scientific world publications, time series analysis used and the value predicted for the year 2020 (i.e. 18 years) is 1259.06 and the predicted literature output for the year 2025 in 1377.41(i.e. 23 years). The world growth rate is increasing trend as well as the Indian growth rate is also upward trend.
Nanotechnology publications and citations by leading countries and blocs

This article examines the relative positions with respect to nanotechnology research publications of the European Union (EU), the United States (US), Japan, Germany, China, and three Asian Tiger nations (South Korea, Singapore, and Taiwan). The analysis uses a dataset of nanotechnology publication records for the time period 1990 through 2006 (part year) extracted from the Science Citation Index obtained through the Web of Science and was developed through a two-stage modularized Boolean approach. The results show that although the EU and the US have the highest number of nanotechnology publications, China and other Asian countries are increasing their publications rapidly, taking an ever-larger proportion of the total. When viewed in terms of the quality-based measure of citations, Asian nanotechnology researchers also show growth in recent years. However, by such citation measures, the US still maintains a strongly dominant position, followed by the EU.

The main objective of this research was to identify highly cited papers in materials science and to analyze their publication and citation data to study their citation characteristics and to understand what role contributing authors, research organizations, as well as international collaborative players play in Indian materials science research. Indian materials science articles published from 2003 to 2012 were screened and highly cited papers, with at least 100 citations since publication, were identified and selected for a bibliometric analysis. The total number of papers, authorship, and collaboration statistics are presented for authors, institutions, foreign countries. To assess contributions, a new indicator, and the major contributor index (MCI) were used. Citation trends for all papers, as well as for top papers, are presented. A total of 396 highly cited articles, constituting 2.59% world share and 2.96% country share, were published by India in materials science output during 2003-2012. This study covered only those papers that received at least 100 citations since publication. In recent years, top-cited articles have reached their citation peak in the early years of their citation life cycle but have shown a more rapid decreasing trend compared to top-cited articles from the past decades. These 396 articles have received 68,668 citations, with an average citation per paper being 173.40. The leading Indian organizations participating in highly cited research were IISc-Bangalore (49 papers), NCL-Pune (29 papers), Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Research-Bangalore (25 papers), Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)-Delhi and IIT-Kharagpur (16 papers each), Indian Institute of Chemical Technology-Hyderabad (15 papers), etc. The leading authors were C.N.R. Rao (20 papers), M. Sastry and V.K. Gupta (9 papers each), A. Govindaraj (8 papers), and A. Ahmad, V. Thomas, and C.D. Lokhande (6 papers each). The leading international collaborative countries were the USA (49 papers), Japan (27 papers), Germany (23 papers), South Korea (12 papers), and France (9 papers). MCI varied among leading institutions, as well as among individual authors. An indicator like the MCI can provide a proxy for the contributions made by an individual or institution. It reflects the independent research ability and leadership. In future evaluations of the institution or individual performances, the MCI should be included, together with the number of total papers, to provide a better profile of research performance.
Nanomedicine Research in India: A Bibliometric Assessment of Publications Output during 2002-20

The paper describes quantitative and qualitative dimensions of nanomedicine research studies in India. The study is based on research publications data in nanomedicine research (1491 publications) as covered in Scopus data basefor the period 2002-20. The study finds that nanomedicine research in India registered a high 73.7% growth with an average of 22.93 citations per paper. The nano-oncology subfield accounted for the highest share (48.49% share) in the national output, followed by seven other nanomedicine subfields. Jamia Hamdard University, Delhi, Panjab University, Chandigarh and Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi lead as the most productive organizations in the country. The paper also lists the most productive authors in nanomedicine research. The most productive research journals that reported nanomedicine research in India include Nanomedicine, International Journal of Nanomedicine and Current Pharmaceutical Design. In addition, International Journal of Pharmaceutics, International Journal of Nanomedicine and Drug Delivery Today topped in the list of most cited research journals.

This study aims to analyze the research output performance on the Nanotechnology subject. A total of 11825 research articles published in Web of Science database were analyzed to find the performance of Nanotechnology related scientists from all over the world in terms of growth during the period 2013-2017 (last five years). Annual growth rate, global publication share, and ranking among ten countries of the world, a prolific author in the field, high productive Institutions, Journals, etc. are studied in this article. This study reveals that the maximum numbers of funding agencies are from China. The average number of publications per year is 2365; more number of articles are published during 2016. In the country-wise contribution of documents, the USA contributed the highest 27.39% of the total publication. Among journals, ACS Nano journal ranked first with 2% of articles and among the funding agencies, the National Natural Science Foundation of China stands first with 8.1% funding.
