Measure-Valued Branching Diffusions with Singular Interactions (original) (raw)

The usual super-Brownian motion is a measure-valued process that arises as a high density limit of a system of branching Brownian particles in which the branching mechanism is critical. In this work we consider analogous processes that model the evolution of a system of two such populations in which there is inter-species competition or predation. We first consider a competition model in which inter-species collisions may result in casualties on both sides. Using a Girsanov approach, we obtain existence and uniqueness of the appropriate martingale problem in one dimension. In two and three dimensions we establish existence only. However, we do show that, in three dimensions, any solution will not be absolutely continuous with respect to the law of two independent super-Brownian motions. Although the supports of two independent super-Brownian motions collide in dimensions four and five, we show that there is no solution to the martingale problem in these cases. We next study a prédatio...

On the spread of a branching Brownian motion whose offspring number has infinite variance
We study the impact on shape parameters of an underlying Bienaym\'e-Galton-Watson branching process (height, width and first hitting time), of having a non-spatial branching mechanism with infinite variance. Aiming at providing a comparative study of the spread of an epidemics whose dynamics is given by the modulus of a branching Brownian motion (BBM) we then consider spatial branching processes in dimension d, not necessarily integer. The underlying branching mechanism is then either a binary branching model or one presenting infinite variance. In particular we evaluate the chance p(x) of being hit if the epidemics started away at distance x. We compute the large x tail probabilities of this event, both when the branching mechanism is regular and when it exhibits very large fluctuations. We prove in this paper an existence result for infinite-dimensional stationary interactive Brownian diffusions. The interaction is supposed to be small in the norm · ∞ but otherwise is very general, being possibly non-regular and non-Markovian. Our method consists in using the characterization of such diffusions as space-time Gibbs fields so that we construct them by space-time cluster expansions in the small coupling parameter.
Joint Hölder continuity of local time for a class of interacting branching measure valued diffusions
Using a Tanaka representation of the local time for a class of superpro-cesses with dependent spatial motion, as well as sharp estimates from the theory of uniformly parabolic partial differential equations, the joint Hölder continuity in time and space of said local times is obtained in two and three dimensional Euclidean space. 2010 Mathematics Subject Classification: Primary 60J68, 60J80; Secondary 60H15, 60K35, 60K37
