John Henry Newman : Advocacy of conscience - 1833-1843 (seguito) (original) (raw)
2001
Abstract
The article analyses the theme of conscience as experienced in the various events which shape the period preceding John Henry Newman's conversion to Roman Catholicism. On returning from the Mediterranean tour, Newman puts all his energy into the discovery of the Fathers, whence the Oxford Movement. The intellectual controversies and the theological themes that characterize this part of his journey, contribute in no insignificant way to highlight the reality of conscience as all inclusive experience of faith.
