Seasonal variation in total erythrocyte count (TEC), Haemoglobin level (Hb), Haematocrit (Hct), Differential leucocyte count (DLC), Total leucocyte count (TLC), Mean corpuscular volume (MCV), Mean corpuscular haemoglobin (MCH) and Mean corpuscular haemoglobin concentration (MCHC) were determined in hill stream fish, Garra gotyla gotyla from Jhajjjar stream of Jammu region, J&K India. Presently RBC dependent parameters viz. TEC, Hb and Hct exhibit a marked increase (P<0.01) during spring and summer season. TLC in tune with RBC dependent parameters also depicted a significant increase (P<0.01) during the spring and summer season. Whereas an increase in the calculated values of RBC, MCV and MCH has been observed from monsoon to winter season. MCHC showed an increase during the hot period of the year.

Fish consume greater amount of algae, phytoplankton and different aquatic plant infected with pesticide, which consequently Abstract | This study was focused on fish health assessment in relation to sex and season via haematological variations and serum biochemical constituents of Labeo rohita from Kotri Barrage near Jamshoro, Sindh, Pakistan. Fish samples (100 specimens for each sex) were collected during two seasons i.e., summer: March to May, 2017 and winter: November, 2017 to January, 2018. Haematological characteristics of the fish specimens were considered season and sex wise separately. Results showed that erythrocytes (2.09 × 10 6 to 2.26 × 10 6), leucocytes (164.90 × 10 3 to145.55 × 10 3) and haemoglobin (10.34 g/100 ml to 7.06 g/100 ml) concentration were significantly higher in male fish during summer and winter than that of female. In female fish, erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) in summer and winter season was found higher (7.3 mm/h to 2.56 mm/h). Thrombocytes, neutrophils, lymphocytes, eosinophil and monocytes did not show any significant difference in their counts of male and female fish during summer and winter season. Important serum constituents like protein, cholesterol and glucose were also assessed and it was reported that serum glucose was found more in male than female fish, while in male protein and cholesterol were high in female in summer. In winter season, female fish showed low level of cholesterol, though protein and glucose remained high. Based on the serum biochemical constituent data, it was concluded that male L. rohita were healthier than the female fish in terms of blood parameters.

The present study encompasses studies on the seasonal variation in various biological parameters of snow trout, Schizothorax esocinus collected from River Jhelum. The exponent 'b' of the length-weight relationship depicted positive allometric growth type. Condition factor (K) was significantly (P<0.05) highest in autumn while lowest values were observed in spring and winter. Gonadosomatic Index (GSI) in both sexes was significantly (P<0.05) highest during the spring season (spawning phase) while the lowest value was observed during summer season (spent phase). Hepatosomatic Index (HSI) was significantly (P<0.05) highest in both sexes during the autumn season while as the lowest value was observed during winter season. The study provides information on health status and reproductive cycle of S. esocinus that could help in augmenting the production along with development of appropriate conservation and management strategies.
Hematological changes in fish Mastacembelus armatus ( Lacepede ) of Song River

Present study was designed to investigate any seasonal (winter, summer and rainy)fluctuation in hematological parameters in the blood of fish Mastacembelus armatus. No significant change have been observed in RBC Count, Hb, PCV,MCHC,MCV,ESR and Clotting time while Significant change in WBC in winter and rainy season was observed. Higher WBC count was observed in winter and rainy season. The effect of total hardness , and temperature of with WBC have been discussed.

Organosomatic indices and leukocyte formula of chub (Squalius cephalus L) from the Suturlija River

Coefficients of organs, along with haematological characteristics, represent an important means of monitoring the health and condition of fish. Organosomatic indices show the state of organ systems and individual organs. They manifest as changes in size, which are reflected through a decrease or increase, under the influence of environmental factors. Chub individuals from the Suturlija River were used for analysis. The paper analyses the Fulton's condition factor, heart, liver, and spleen coefficients as a condition factor. Furthermore, the values of total length, standard length, and body weight were determined for all individuals. Also, certain haematological parameters were analysed in the paper: total leukocyte count and differential blood count. A total of 19 chubs caught from the Suturlija River were analysed. The seasonal effect on haematology and body composition of Rohu and Mrigal carp were evaluated. Fifty-four fish of each species (Rohu length and weight 28.00±0.34 cm and 385±3.40 g; Mrigal carp length and weight 29.48±0.24 cm and 393±5.48 g) were collected from the Dera Ismail Khan. The values of WBCs (9.31 and 8.41×10 6 mm-3), RBCs (2.37 and 2.12×10 6 mm-3), Hb (9.58 and 8.78) and HCT (38.06 and 36.04 %) of Rohu and Mrigal carp were higher in summer whereas declined in winter (P<0.05). The MCV, MCH and MCHC of both species were higher (P<0.05) in winter, and decreased during summer. The moisture content of both Rohu and Mrigal carp was higher during winter followed by spring and lower in summer season. Lipid and protein content of both species were higher (P<0.05) in summer and lower in winter. The moisture content, proteins and lipid were found higher in Rohu than Mrigal carp. According to the findings, it was concluded that the water quality parameters vary seasonally which in turn impacts on body physiology of fish species.
Hematological parameters of one year old sea trout (Salmo trutta) in spring

Sea trout are fish which are most similar to salmon and that‘s why it is little studied. Despite included in one genus, salmon and sea trout are not as alike as it seems. Many points including physiological parameters might be and are different. Nowadays sea trout are reared in Latvian hatcheries. Ninety four sea trout blood samples were taken and examined and following parameters were identified – red blood cell count (RBC), hemoglobin, hematocrit and leukocyte formula. In this work was to verify the existence of the effect of temperature difference on some blood parameters of Common Carp. The results showed follows: There were no significant differences (p>0, 05) in HB and PCV rates for group 1 and group 2 and thus no correlation coefficient between them. The results indicated the presence of significant difference (P>0.05) in WBC counts of the second group (winter collection group) compared with summer collection group, and last there were no significant difference (P>0.05) in the RBC counts for two groups.

The use and validation of fish health monitoring tools have become increasingly evident due to aquaculture expansion. This study investigated the hematology and blood morphometrics of Piaractus mesopotamicus, Brycon orbignyanus, Oreochromis niloticus and Rhamdia quelen. The fish were kept for 30 days in 300-liter aquariums, after which they were anesthetized with benzocaine and blood was collected from caudal vessels. In comparison to other species, B. orbignyanus presented the highest hematocrit (Ht), RBC averages and Mean Corpuscular Volume (MCV) with a particular range of data.
