Emotional Intelligence (EI) is individuals ability to recognize their self-emotions, emotions of others, motivate their self, and manage their emotions well in dealing with others. Towards a good IE, a person is able to control his/her emotions when facing unpleasant and painful situations. IE plays an important role the one’s life than Intellectual Intelligence (IQ) and influences decision making when married. The last three years, there have been 6420 divorce cases. The groups that have a good EI level turned out to be 3.5 times easier to feel satisfaction in their marriage. It was compared to those who have a low EI level. The marriage preparations included their participation in premarital classes also influences their married life.

The aim of the present research was to find out the relationship between emotional intelligence (EI) and marital adjustment of couples. Cross sectional survey design was used to collect data. Sample size was 60 couples (120 participants), age range was 25-45 selected by using purposive sampling technique from the district of Gujrat. Data was collected from three colonies of Gujrat: Shadman colony, Gulshan colony and Model town. Shutte Emotional Intelligence Scale (SHIS) was used to assess the level of emotional intelligence whereas Revised Dyadic Adjustment Scale (RDAS) was used to examine the marital adjustment in the perspective of Consensus, Satisfaction and Cohesion. Findings of the study concluded that emotional intelligence is positively correlated with marital adjustment. Results revealed that the age and gender has no affect on the marital adjustment. However, family income had direct relation to marital adjustment. The present study examined the relationship between emotional intelligence (EI) and marital adjustment of married couples. It was further aimed at identifying the role of gender, income and marriage duration on marital adjustment. Overall, emotional intelligence and marital adjustment is linked with each other. Although many researchers have explored t he different emotional intelligence aspects with marital adjustment such as perception and communication of emotions, effective listening and emotion work balance etc. However, current study explored the level of emotional intelligence and marital adjustment in couples of Gujrat city. Implications of the findings have been discussed.
Emotional Intelligence and Quality of Marital Life in married working Indian women
This study aims to observe emotional intelligence and quality of marital life in married working women in the Indian context. A sample of 50 working Indian women, aged 23-54, was randomly selected and administered the Emotional Intelligence Scale and Marital Quality Scale. Both the variables were first studied independently to observe the tendencies of the sample in each domain. Further, the first variable, EQ, was controlled to observe the MQ of those with high, normal and low Emotional Intelligence.
Influence of Emotional Intelligence on Marital Satisfaction Among Married Couples

Marital satisfaction is not something that comes naturally to a person. The greater the individual's awareness and life skills, the more content he or she is with marriage. One of the factors that can inuence marital satisfaction is trait emotional intelligence. Previous research has found that individuals with higher emotional intelligence are more aware of their own and others' emotions, are better at managing their marital relationships, are better at resolving disagreements, and are better at dealing with marital dilemmas. The current study aimed to investigate the inuence of trait emotional intelligence on marital satisfaction among married couples in India. ROLE OF EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE IN MARRIAGE ADJUSTEMENT: A REVIEW
The present paper examines the role of emotional intelligence in determining marital adjustment. In Indian context marriage provides an opportunity to men and women to come closer develop emotional relationship and fulfil their personal and social responsibilities. Due to change in social life, stability in marriage life is becoming big challenge. Different types of pressures, stemming from society are leading to marital disruption, emotional and psychological disturbance, and separation. Now a days it has become a common feature in the society. If it exists for longer duration, it may produce negative psychological and emotional effect on the couple. It has been observed that variety of factors is responsible in maintaining good marital adjustment. Researchers evidenced that structure of family, change in perception by couples, role, responsibilities and expectations play an important role in determining the marital adjustment. Thus, in this paper the efforts were made to explain and examine the progress in terms of individual research that highlighted the broader notion that completely portrayed the variability in marital adjustment and the interplay between internal and external intelligence. It has been evidenced through researches that besides variety of factors, emotional intelligence is also of the key factor that has great impact on marital adjustment. Keywords:
Emotional Intelligence: A Predictor of Marital Quality in Pakistani Couples

The present study examined the role of emotional intelligence in the prediction of marital quality in Pakistani scenario. A sample of 85 couples (N = 170) was collected. Their age ranged from 21 to 40 years and the duration of marriage ranged from three to 10 were used. The analyses of the study variables revealed significant positive relationship between emotional intelligence and indicators of marital quality, i.e., marital adjustment and conflict resolution. Emotional intelligence explained 48% variance in marital adjustment and 56% variance in conflict resolution. Only interpersonal skill, empathy, optimism, and impulse control (dimensions of emotional intelligence) appeared as salient predictors of marital quality. Initial analyses ruled out the role of demographic variables (e.g., age, monthly income, family system, duration of marriage, and type of marriage) in marital quality.
Aim of the Study: The stability of a nation and society largely depends upon the marital stability of the peoples belongs to that society or nation. Unfortunately, there seems to be a decrease in the societal support to the marriage system. There are several reasons behind this issue, including youngsters less interest in getting marriage, fear from marital instability, divorce, and fear from taking the responsibility of a family. The study was aimed to investigate the role of emotional intelligence, and level of education in marital adjustment among married women living in joint family system. Methodology: The aforesaid issue was investigated using non-probability purposive sampling technique on 50 married women having master's degree, living in a joint family system after marriage belongs to Hyderabad city. Survey method was used for data collection through questionnaire technique. There were two hypotheses of the study. 1. Emotional intelligence would be the positive predictor of marital adjustment among married women. 2. Level of education would be the positive predictor of marital adjustment among married women. Variables of the study were measured with the help two valid and reliable instruments.1. Self-report measure of emotional intelligence scale. (Khan & Kamal., 2010). 2. Marital adjustment Questionnaire (Vaishnavi& Shalini, 2020) and personal information questionnaire was used for getting the demographic variables information about the participants. Mean, SD, and regression analysis was computed with SPSS Version (26). Findings: Results of the study confirmed both of the hypotheses of the study. Findings of the study can be beneficial for the betterment of community. Conclusion: The study concluded that emotional intelligence and education positive predictor of marital adjustment among married women.
The relationship between emotional intelligence health and marital satisfaction: A comparative study

Introduction: Marriage is known as the most important incident in everyone's life after birth. The most important purpose of marriage is achieving a life followed with love and affection beside the spouse and providing mental comfort and general health. The aim of the present study is to investigate the relationship between emotional intelligence health and marital satisfaction among married people. Materials and Methods: The research method is descriptive-analytic and its design is comparative, done on 226 people including 114 persons (50 women and 64 men) having marital conflicts, and 112 people (58 women and 54 men) having marital satisfaction, by cluster random sampling from 13 districts of the city of Isfahan. Baron (with 90 questions) and Enrich marital satisfaction (115 questions) questionnaires were used for collecting the required information. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics including independent t-tests, Pearson correlation, and linear regression analysis, using SPSS software version 19. Results: The results from the research showed that the scores of emotional intelligence in married people group having marriage conflicts who had referred to the administration of justice was 57.3 ± 13.2, and the random sample from the married people in the city of Isfahan as the comparing group had the score of 67.2 ± 9.5, and the difference of the average scores for the emotional intelligence for the two groups was significant (P < 0.001). The correlation analysis showed that there was a significant and positive relation between emotional intelligence and marital satisfaction (P < 0.001, r = 0.529). The results of linear regression also showed that the general emotional intelligence predicts the quality of marital satisfaction. The emotion of the predicting line of the marital satisfaction score (y) is in the form of: y = 14.8 + 0.656x, by using the emotional intelligence score (x). Conclusion: Regarding the close relations between emotional intelligence and marital satisfaction, education centers such as universities, organizations and family clinics could use this variable in micro-and macro-social plans for improving the quality of the married people relations and promoting health of the families and the society.
Gender-Wise Comparison on Emotional Intelligence and Marital Satisfaction

The present study compared emotional intelligence in students with or without marital satisfaction. The population of this study where married students of Humanities and Social Sciences department of Islamic Azad University, Science and Research Branch of Tehran, 100 individuals were chosen as samples through random sampling. The instruments of this research were: barN emotional intelligence questionnaire and Enrich sexual satisfaction questionnaire. In this study, to analyze the data obtained, in descriptive statistics part tables, graphs, averages and standard deviations are used. In the inferential statistics part in order to approve or reject the null hypothesis, the t-test for independent groups was used. The findings indicate that there are significant differences, in the emotional intelligence of students with or without marital satisfaction, as the degree of emotional intelligence among student with marital satisfaction is significantly greater than students who lack marital satisfaction. Also among the main components of emotional intelligence, scores of the individual components, the overall mood and stress management among student with or without marital satisfaction showed significant differences. On the other hand, there was no significant difference between the compatibility between component scores and interpersonal emotional intelligence among student with or without sexual satisfaction.
