4G Mobile Networks - Technology Beyond 2.5G and 3G
Based on the study, 4G mobile technology is in a determining and standardization stage. Although 4G wireless technology offers higher data rates and the ability to roam across multiple heterogeneous wireless networks, several issues require further research and development. Since 4G is still in the cloud of the sensible standards creation, ITU and IEEE form several task forces to work on the possible completion for the 4G mobile standards as well. 3GPP LTE is an evolution standard from UMTS, and WiMAX is another candidate from IEEE. These technologies have different characteristics and try to meet 4G characteristics to become a leading technology in the future market. Under these circumstances, this paper will present about the current trends and its underlying technologies to implement the 4G mobile technology. This paper also shows some of the possible scenarios that will benefit the 4th generation technology.
The evolution to 4G cellular systems: LTE-Advanced
This paper provides an in-depth view on the technologies being considered for Long Term Evolution-Advanced (LTE-Advanced). First, the evolution from third generation (3G) to fourth generation (4G) is described in terms of performance requirements and main characteristics. The new network architecture developed by the Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP), which supports the integration of current and future radio access technologies, is highlighted. Then, the main technologies for LTE-Advanced are explained, together with possible improvements, their associated challenges, and some approaches that have been considered to tackle those challenges.
Emerging Technology in wireless network: Evolution of 4G
International Journal of Advanced Research in Computer Science, 2011
Wireless networks are now advancing to third generation (3G) capabilities, providing increased data transfer rates that make it easier to access applications and the Internet from mobile devices. Individual wireless access networks show limitations that can be overcome through the integration of different technologies into a unified platform (i.e. 4G system) . Evolution of 4G-Research Directions Towards Fourth Generation Wireless Communication
Mobile communication play a vital l role in the data and voice network front. With the deployment of mass scale 3G just around the globe, new directions are already being researched. This paper addresses the fourth generation mobile communication. The Fourth Generation (4G) Mobile Communication not only emphasizes on increase in data rate and new interfaces but it also converse the advanced wireless mobile communication. The high speed wireless access the systems in an Open Wireless Architecture (OWA) platform which has become the hub of this emerging next generation mobile technology. Based on the OWA model, 4G mobile would deliver the best business to the wireless market and Asia-Pacific which happens to be the most dynamic market of new generation mobile communication with over $100 Billion businesses in the next decade. The 4G mobile technology is the intersection and convergence of wireless mobile and wireless access around the globe. Any single architecture wireless system, including 3G, HSDPA, WiMax, etc., is a transitional solution only, and will be replaced by open wireless architecture system very soon where in various different wireless standards can be integrated and converged on open platform. The advent of 4G wireless systems has created many research opportunities. The expectations from 4G are high in terms of data rates, spectral efficiency, mobility and integration.
Future and Challenges of 4G Wireless Technology
—The next stage of progression in wireless communications, after 2G and 3G,i.e the Fourth Generation wireless network consists of the new technologies with all IP based, high data rate services providing internet access anytime , anywhere, with higher bandwidth, better visual technologies and wider hold for multimedia applications. The 4G network technologies ensure high speed accessibility through any wireless device by integrating non IP based and IP based devices. This paper presents the 4G network technologies and services as a whole that the industry is c onfronting and eventually, unfurling some of the projected suggestions. The paper enunciates the thriving prospects of 4G ahead with technologies such as LTE, LTE Advanced, MIMO, WiMAX, WiMAX2.0 etc. This paper describes how 4G is easy to deploy and thus, cost effective as well. The idea of multimode software for maintaining different networks simultaneously is explained, along with the mechanisms of system initiated discoveries. Also, the challenge of managing user accounts is discussed. The paper describes the concept of security that should be given heed. This paper explores what 4G network technology actually is , along with some of the propositions in order to fully figure out the advantages and challenges of effectively implementing 4G.
The Next Generation Mobile Wireless Cellular Networks – 4G and Beyond
American Journal of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2014
The demand of mobile user is ever increasing in this world of digital systems. Consumers demand more from their technology. Whether it is a television, cellular phone, Washing machine or refrigerator, the latest technology purchase must have new features. With the advent of the Internet, the most-wanted feature is better, faster access to information. The time not far away when access to all necessary information and the power of a personal computer, sits in the palm of one's hand. To support such a powerful system, we need pervasive, highspeed wireless connectivity. The drawbacks of the current mobile communication technology have led the researchers to come up with more advanced and efficient technologies. 4G mobile technology is the outcome in this direction. 4G is the next generation of wireless networks that will totally replace existing 3G networks. It is supposed to provide its customers with better speed and all IP based multimedia services. In the present scenario existing technologies are capable of performing functions like broadband data access, supporting voice traffic using voice over IP (VoIP), in mobile environment etc., but there is a great requirement of integrating all such technologies into a single combined system. 4G promises a solution to this problem by seamlessly integrating the terminals, networks and applications. This paper presents an overall study of the 4G systems, architecture, standard, benefits, challenges in implementation, design for the LTE and WiMAX technologies, Security issues and future scope of 4G technologies.
4G - The way to future communications
The path on the way to 4G networks incorporates a number of significant trends. Moreover, future wireless infrastructures will have to compete with multiple deployed wired and wireless communication systems. The 4G "era" has to ensure really break-through technologies in order to persuade for its necessity and to gain its share in the world communication market. This paper deals with the fourth generation (4G) of wireless communication networks. In the beginning a brief review of previous generation networks (1 st , 2 nd , 2,5 and 3 rd ) is presented. We will examine 3G network's commercial success or failure worldwide, and throughout this analysis, the necessity for 4G networks will arise. Available information will be provided, concerning the various standardization activities, currently performed on 4G standards. A short analysis of the various layer trends (physical, network, MAC, security, application, etc.) will be described. Furthermore the globalisation of 4G, not only as a mobile network standard, but as a worldwide specification on fixed and mobile broadband communications will become evident. Finally, an imaginary future scenario will be illustrated, in order to have a more clear vision on future voice, data and multimedia communications.
