Cibiuk Sundanese Restaurants have several analyzes about the influence of Sundanese traditional house patterns as a function of traditional restaurants. These influences can be assessed with a spatial, circulation, and material selection approach used in the interior elements. In this study, the types of users are divided into focus, namely the main users (users who use restaurant facilities) who experience directly whether the traditional Sundanese atmosphere feels strong or not when they come as visitors, whether it's just for eating (enjoying the available menu), or when doing other activities such as discussing, or meeting, or celebrating. One of the cultural identity and heritage in Indonesia that must be preserved is traditional houses. The Teras Sunda Cibiru is an educational and cultural tourist attraction in the city of Bandung that displays the architecture of traditional Sundanese houses in its buildings but unfortunately has not implemented all the traditional Sundanese architectural concepts that should exist. This study analyzes the suitability of the concept of traditional Sundanese architecture and its application in the design of existing buildings on the Teras Sunda Cibiru. It uses a qualitative descriptive method. It gathers primary data at the site by conducting a physical survey, as well as in-depth interviews and more detailed observation. It collects secondary data from various sources. The findings show that the buildings on the Teras Sunda Cibiru are vernacular architecture and have implemented several Sundanese architectural concepts. The most widely applied concept is the use of natural building materials followed in the application of the shapes of the roofs. Information about intangible concepts such as the values and philosophies of existing buildings has not been presented, even though this is needed to strengthen its function as an edu-cultural tourist site.

The instrument of this research is human instruments. The researcher is a primary instrument. As qualitative research with an ethnographic approach, the instrument of this study is the human instrument, the researcher as a primary instrument that can not be changed to someone else. A design speaks not just through visuals, but instead, a design speaks through anything around us. One of the things that had existed since a long time ago is culture. Culture plays a significant role where it is unique on its own place giving impact to the environment. In this case Semarang Chinatown is a place where the Chinese Culture shows genuinely. It is intriguing that door placement of business building have a same placement in Semarang Chinatown. This research is a qualitative study obtained from related data from direct observations and literature. The data obtained will be used to prove what kind of Chinese Culture that influences door placement of business building in Semarang Chinatown.

Omah has interior arrangement system and regulation according to the life of Javanese people hereditarily. In its process of building and interior arranging, Javanese people hold on to the philosophical and cosmological concept, which was illogic for modern design study to be applied in the aesthetic study. In order to remain exist in the tight competition in culinary industry, business people have to make a clear differentiation for their venture. Bandung, the capital city of West Java, is famous for the creative people and it is one of good places to start a culinary business in Indonesia. This paper observes the elements of physical evidence and the types and roles of servicescape of Ramen House, a small Japanese restaurant in North Dago, in order to create uniqueness compare to other restaurants in Bandung. Ramen House has distinctive exterior and interior facilities as well as other tangible things in order to serve the customers. The servicescape usage of Ramen House is interpersonal service; meanwhile the design of servicescape has three roles, which are package, facilitator, and differentiator. The important thing for the theme restaurant is the consistency in conveying the concept through every part of the restaurant's physical evidence. .
In the year 1972, UNESCO has defined the term ‘Malay’ as a tribe in Peninsular Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Filipina, and Madagascar. On the other hand, there was a report about two types of definition in terms of law and anthropology regarding the ‘Malay’. According to constitution in case 160(2), Malays have been defined as a person who is Islam, speaks the Malay language, practices the Malay culture and tradition, born before independence day whether in official Malay Federation grounds or in Singapore or, on the day of independence and he or she is a resident in the federation or in Singapore . The aim of this paper is to find out the meaning of ‘culture’, its importance, what is our culture and how culture can be used in this research and how culture can be considered in the design of terrace house in the future. This paper adopt a spatial usage analysis methods. It tries to describe certain custom and ritual to be a basis to analyse the usage of the spaces.
This research is a study on the shape of object as a resulted representation relating to the shift in function. The shift occurs in traditional culture products of the urban house in Indonesia. This research is aimed at (a) identifying the changes in physical function (shape) of the traditional culture products based on their visual entities (structure, material, and operational) existing in the urban society's house in Indonesia, (b) identifying the changes in representational function and meaning of traditional culture products in structuring the house interior of Indonesian urban society. This is an observational-based research on the phenomena of reusing the traditional culture products such as lesung (mortar), grobog, and gebyok (wooden wall) as supporting elements in structuring the house interior of the urban society in Indonesia. This phenomenon emerged within 1995-2001. To present day, the phenomenon becomes an ongoing symptom in the development of interior design in Indonesia. The uniqueness of this phenomenon is the existence of society tendency in interpreting the shape of the traditional culture products leading to the changes in representational function and meaning of the mentioned traditional culture products.

Jami' Mosque is one of the elements of catur tunggal within the spatial order of Malang City Square (Alunalun Malang). The changes in one or all of the elements that form the square will also affect its spatial order. Therefore, the interrelations between elements forming the alun-alun need to be understood as one of the Javanese city's identities. The existence of the Jami' Mosque with its functional complexity can be the initial foundation to explore the spatial configuration and interaction in Alun-alun Malang. The research is conducted through a behavior setting approach using space syntax to determine the relationship between the spaces in the mosque and the square. It was done by using the superimposition of spatial patterns that formed over time. By understanding Alun-alun Malang's spatial concept, the meaning of the space that has been formed can be maintained. Furthermore, the understanding can help to bring back its cultural values and information as a Javanese urban space identity.
