Generación y gestión de residuos normativos
2015

The objective was to compare the knowledge of the dangerous biological-infectious wastes between doctors, nurses and general services of a public Hospital of Acapulco, Guerrero, in 2016. An inferential, transversal, quasiexperimental and quantitative study was made. Where was used a simple aleatory sample. The size of the sample was of 479. Furthermore, there was an evaluation of the knowledge about the use of the dangerous biological-infectious wastes. The Nursery personal got 6.6316. The Doctor got 6.4103. And the personal of the general services got in the evaluation 3.0815. Finally, we assume that doctors and nurses have more knowledge than those from general service but a low level barely approved the norm NOM-087 SEMARNAT-SSA-2002.

The thought of Hans Jonas is far from being presented as a mere historical reference. It reflects narrow points of contact with the contemporary bio-ethical problematic. In this respect, through the present reflections, some of the Author’s thoughts that stand out will be highlighted, in the understanding that they will contribute to reveal possible links with two dimensions of the phenomenon that has been called "global bioethics", the global impact of the current biotechnology and the need to regulate it legally through instruments of universal scope.
Bio-hazardous waste are those generated as a result of health care or research activities, which have come in contact with pathogens, organs, blood, or which can also generate damage to the environment. Mexican universities working with biological and chemical issues should be considered as bio-hazardous waste generating facilities. The University of Cañada is a research and human resources training institution were this type of waste is generated; however the final destination of this waste is still unknown. For this reason, this study’s aim was to assess the level of knowledge of the students concerning the NOM-087- ECOL-SSA-2002. Results show that students know the general terms of the Standard. However, they lack of deep knowledge of it, especially regarding some definitions in the Standard.
Normativas para la Gestión de Residuos Biopatogénicos en Argentina
Rev Argentina de Salud Pública, 2015
INTRODUCTION: Health care waste management poses various technical problems and is infuenced by cultural, social and economic contexts. In Argentina, this takes place in a complex legal scenario with the coexistence of 18 different legal frameworks for bio-pathogenic waste. OBJECTIVES: To provide the tools for the collective federal construction of minimum agreements in this feld. METHODS: A comparative review was performed on provincial laws and their regulatory decrees. It involved a comparison with the national law for every aspect, following the successive stages of internal health care waste management. RESULTS: The review included 67 legal disposi- tions: 5 at national level, 40 provincial laws and 22 provincial decrees. Most of the items showed a great diversity of criteria and different depth level. CONCLUSIONS: Argentina needs to update the regulations on health care waste management with an inclusive approach to environmental and occupational health, in order to develop the collective federal construction of minimum agreements.
