Oral Health Literacy of Parentsand Association with Children Oral Health Status – a Review (original) (raw)

Journal of critical reviews, 2020

Abstract

Oral health literacy (OHL) is the capacity of the individual to gain, practise and to recognise the information on basic health and its services required for appropriate oral health (OH)conclusions. The OHL allows an individual to move relatively through the health care system rather allowing them to write , read and relate the literature on oral health. It is an important section of physical health and comfort, even more than a clean mouth, a great smile, and relief from pain and infection. It also relates significantly to self-esteem and personal achievement. There is enough evidence in the literature with several studies which reveals that the oral health literacy is significantly associated with adult’s oral health status, as well as children’s oral health
