An Investigation about The Deuterium-Deuterium Nuclear Fusion differential cross section
Journal of University of Anbar for Pure Science
Differential cross section for the D-D fusion reaction represents an important parameter in calculating the neutron or proton yield and this calculation need to study the changes of the differential cross section with both deuteron energy and reaction angle .We see that the differential cross section are strongly effected with a range of reaction angle between [0-100] degree , and it seems that it has a maximum value when the reaction angle equal to zero because the present of the parameter cos θ in there calculated equation .From the figures we notice a good agreement between our calculated results and the experimentally results. This lead to the ability for using this model in the future for different calculations and the ability for modifying it's to construction a like formulas for another fusion reactions by depending on their physical characteristics.
Charge dependence of the total nucleon-deuteron reaction cross section
Nuclear Physics A, 1984
The validity of charge symmetry in the reaction Nd + 3N has been tested experimentally. The breakup reaction 'H(d, p)pn was investigated at bombarding energies T,, = 13.1 and 15.9 MeV. The total reaction cross section for the pd interaction is deduced from the measured spectra and compared with the corresponding cross section for the nd interaction. Both quantities agree within the experimental errors. The comparison with theoretical predictions shows that the approximate treatment of the Coulomb force in the framework of the Faddeev theory yields too-large deviations from charge symmetry. E NUCLEAR REACTION 'H(d, p)pn, E = 13.1, 15.9 MeV, measured differential cross sections (T(Tn, f&), deduced total reaction cross section.
Cross section data for the D( 3 He,p) 4 He nuclear reaction from 0.25 to 6 MeV
Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section B: Beam Interactions with Materials and Atoms, 2016
The differential cross sections for the nuclear reaction D(3 He, p) 4 He were determined at reaction angles of 135°, 144.5° and 175° for 3 He energies in the laboratory frame between 0.25 and 5.6 MeV. The uncertainty of the determined cross sections is between 4.1% and 5.9%. The results were compared with theoretical predictions for the cross sections [M. Nocente et al., Nuclear Fusion 50 (2010) 055001]. For energies below 1 MeV the theoretical values deviate significantly from the experimental data. For higher energies the theoretical predictions agree well with the experimental data.
Microscopic study of deuteron–nucleus total reaction cross section at medium energies
Nuclear Physics A, 2010
Total reaction cross sections for 38, 67 and 97 MeV deuteron for several nuclei have been analyzed within the theoretical framework of the Glauber model. The Glauber elastic S-matrix element to the deuteronnucleus system is evaluated in the rigid projectile model which takes as the input N -d elastic scattering amplitude evaluated in terms of the nucleon-nucleon amplitude and ground state density of the deuteron. The analysis takes into consideration the Coulomb modification of the projectile trajectory, downward energy shift of the projectile nucleon due to the Coulomb field and the modification on nucleon-nucleon total cross section. The contribution to the total reaction cross section from the photo-disintegration of the deuteron is also considered. Using the semi-phenomenological proton and neutron densities for the target, we find that in general, the theoretical predictions are in fairly good agreement with the experimental data.
Analysis of total reaction cross sections for deuterons on 1p-shell-nuclei
Science China Physics, Mechanics & Astronomy, 2018
This study aims to analyze the differential cross sections (DCSs) of elastic scattering and total reaction cross sections (TRCSs) of the loosely-bound deuteron projectile impinging on 1p-shell nuclei, such as 9 Be, 12 C, and 16 O, at incident energies ranging between 10.6 and 171 MeV using the continuum discretized coupled channel (CDCC) method. By fitting the experimental data for the DCSs and TRCSs, energy-dependent renormalization factors for the real and imaginary parts of the nucleon-nucleus opticalmodel potentials deduced from the studies proposed by Koning and Delaroche (KD02) and by Watson, Singh, and Segel (WSS), are obtained. It is found that with the WSS potential, which was obtained specifically for 1p-shell nuclei, the CDCC calculations can simultaneously reproduce both the DCSs and the TRCSs. The results show that it is important to choose appropriate optical potentials to describe deuteron-induced reactions. total reaction cross sections, differential cross sections, deuteron, 1 p-shell nuclei

Theoretical cross sections of 209Bi, 232Th, 235U and 238U on deuteron-induced reactions
Annals of Nuclear Energy, 2010
There are many application fields for fast neutrons. The main application fields of the fast neutrons are accelerator-driven sub-critical systems (ADS) and fusion–fission (hybrid) reactor systems for fission energy production. Thorium (Th) and uranium (U) are nuclear fuels in fusion–fission (hybrid) reactor systems and bismuth (Bi) is also the target nucleus in the ADS reactor systems. In this study, neutron production cross sections produced by (d, xn) reactions for spallation targets such as 209Bi, 232Th, 235U and 238U have been investigated. New evaluated hybrid model and geometry dependent hybrid model have been used to calculate the pre-equilibrium neutron production cross sections. For the reaction equilibrium component, Weisskopf–Ewing model calculations have been preferred. The obtained results have been discussed and compared with the available experimental data and found in agreement with each other.
Determination of (n,2n) Reaction Cross Sections for Some Nuclei with Asymmetry Parameter
The (n,2n) reaction cross sections for targets of 203,205 Tl, 204,206,207,208 Pb, 209 Bi, 232 Th and 238 U were calculated both theoretically and semi-empirically. Theoretical calculations were done using two different computer codes: PCROSS computer code for the full exciton model and ALICE/ASH-2006 computer code for the geometry dependent hybrid (GDH) model with the incident neutron energy up to 25 MeV. Semi-empirical calculations were done using formulas derived by several researchers. The obtained results have been discussed and compared with the available experimental data taken from the literature. The different nuclear reaction program codes used in the present study show considerable differences depending upon the selected energy range. Especially PCROSS calculation results show a disagreement above the incident energy of about 16 MeV for all the studied nuclei. Moreover , even though the graphs qualitatively agree in shape, they differ in magnitude below 15 MeV.

In this study, we have investigated theoretical cross sections of (c, p) reactions at 20 ± 1 MeV for the photon incident energy and then we have obtained two new empirical formulae for 40 B A B 108 and for the even Z-even N target nuclei including new fitting parameters. These new empirical formulae depending on the asymmetry parameters (s = (N-Z)/A) were determined by using the least squares approximation fitting method to the available experimental cross section data taken from EXFOR. The results have been compared with the experimental data and found to be well in agreement.
