Disorders of cranial and spinal nerves (original) (raw)
This work investigates disorders of cranial and spinal nerves, focusing on Guillain-Barré-Strohl syndrome (GBS) in relation to COVID-19. GBS is characterized by its acute onset and a higher incidence in COVID-19 patients, with distinct clinical and neurophysiological features. The study highlights the rapid emergence of neurological signs following the primary infection and suggests potential immunological mechanisms, although the exact pathophysiology remains unclear. It emphasizes the frequency of Peripheral Nervous System involvement in severe COVID-19 cases, comparing it with other parainfectious disorders and discussing rehabilitation strategies.
