2004, Journal of Perinatology

Associated of bacteria with spontaneous abortion and estimated of some immunological and molecular parameter

Current study was done to investigate the bacteria association with 116 enrolled aborted women and 20 successful pregnant women in Babylon city. The ages of patient and the control is between 13-41 years. Ninety swab sample was collected from placenta, fetus, vaginal and they were aerobically cultured in different media to investigate the bacteria species in these tissue. The result show the appearance G+ve and G-ve bacteria in all gestational age as follow in the 1 st trimester show 110 isolates and 121 isolates G-ve bacteria in 2 nd trimester and 13 isolate at 3 rd trimester. Immunological study of TNF-α cytokine appear significantly increased in aborted women than successful pregnancy in the 1 st trimester 131. 55 and age period (31-40) 131.0pg/ml. Molecular method by using PCR technique showed 6 bands as positive result with 8F and U1492 universal primer.
