Background: This article inspects the internal constituents on employees’ aptitudes and trepidations (EATs) for the adoption of enterprise application architecture (EAA) for supply chain management (SCM) in small and medium enterprises (SMEs) within Capricorn District Municipality. EATs trait origins widespread destruction and inflict in the adoption of EAA if not managed amicably, unless, the enterprise accentuate the importance of the 4th Industrial revolution with careful planning to deal with the aftermath and mitigate the inspirations instinctively. Thus, the logistics of EAA adoption is one of the main activities in information technology (IT) that requires meticulous knowledge of algorithms for a successful SCM. Objective: The principal objective of this study is to determine whether EATs affect the adoption of EAA for SCM in SMEs and to identify gaps and institute state of the art in research for future studies. Method: This study adopts a descriptive research method with the use of 310 respondents targeted at both SME owners and managers, sculpted over quantitative research. Based on the analyses of data, the linear regression model is executed. As a result, the author realised that ‘EATs affect the adoption of EAA’ as a dominant research focus of these studies. In this study, the response EATs as a primary influencer of the adoption of EAA, considered on a linear regression model for attainable SCM. In practice, SMEs should link EAA to new technologies, enterprise capabilities, objectives, and strategies, as well as the existing culture and performance philosophies. Results: The SMEs’ success in SCM activities is dependent on employees’ perceptions, attitudes, motivation and learning abilities that could ease the narratives on the adoption of EAA. Conclusion: These results provide the following comprehensions for future research: applying simplicity by getting them on board, introducing EAA through different learning channels, building a coalition of willing mindsets, motivating its purpose, and celebrating small progress. The research provides a profound understanding relevant to the contextual background to SMEs to adopt EAA for SCM that depends on the enterprise resources (ERs) acquisition and\or availability. Background: In this study, Multiple Linear Regression (MLR) is cast-off a statistical technique accustomed to propositions on determining the nexus between internal dynamic exasperations (IDEs) and external dynamic exasperations (EDEs), denoted as the independent variables (Xs), as well as perceived attitudes signified as the predictor variable for actual adoption (AA) of enterprise application architecture (EAA), presented as the dependent variable (Y). Objective: The objective of this paper was to ascertain the alternative hypotheses that IDEs, EDEs, and perceived attitudes (PAs) affect the AA of EAA for supply chain management (SCM) within small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Design/Methodology: The study used quantitative analysis chronicled in statistical package social science (SPSS) version 25 that encompassed diagnostic tests through Cronbach's Alpha for reliability, and Double-Exponent Distribution for data validity. Data analysis is concerted through the model summary, graphical expression of MLR, regression analysis (algebra expression), along with Beta weight. Results/Findings: A stratified-random sampling of 310 data sets were used as SMEs' owners and managers. The results were obtained from the main analysis of multiple regression that produced a model equation (Y) that determined the estimations of AA of EAA with 5xs; 19.49x6; 17.84x6; 18.23x6; 16.12x6; and 9.82x6; and response variable (Y); 25.8 x6: wherein Ԑi is residual error. Practical implications and conclusions: This exertion contributes to existing knowledge on AA of EAA for SCM by providing three main separable functions of multilinear regression (MLR). First, it broadens the understanding of the strength of relationships between Xs, PV and Y. Second, its expositions which predictors in the model are statistically significant and which are not. Third, it projects a confidence interval for each predicted regression coefficient.

This paper examines enterprise resource inducements (ERIs) for enterprise application architecture (EAA) adoption for supply chain management (SCM) in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The integrated literature review is prolonged by covering architecture vision, business architecture, information systems architecture, technology architecture, capabilities and solutions, and management. This study contributes to existing knowledge on the actual adoption of EAA by providing architecture development frameworks that are generally considered suitable for SCM activities. Quantitative research presented both diagnostic tests and data analysis as a methodological approach. Descriptive data analysis was generated using Pearson's correlation and coefficient, as well as analysis of variance (ANOVA), and linear regression. The overall results support the alternative hypothesis that ERIs influence EAA adoption in SCM by developing an interest in subjective phenomena.

Background: The components of information systems (ISCs) have become a critical factor in the adoption of enterprise application architecture (EAA) for supply chain management (SCM) within small and medium enterprises (SMEs) when used reciprocally with competent capital formation, mainframe and personal computers, application software systems, and information technology experts. The current study examined information systems components (ISCs) as they were used in the adoption of EAA in SMEs, scrutinised the Theory of Planned Behavior, and systematic literature review. Objective: This paper seeks to contribute to the fundamental aspects of ISCs that influence the adoption of EAA for SCM in small and medium enterprises (SMSs) in South Africa, located in Limpopo Province of Capricorn District Municipality. Methodology: A quantitative survey presented both diagnostic tests and data analysis as that of the methodological modus operandi. Descriptive data analysis generated Pearson’s correlation and coefficient, along with analysis of variance (ANOVA) and linear regression. Data was collected through stratified random sampling of SME owners and managers. Results: The most substantial results indicate that ISCs should be integrated with transactional support systems (TSSs), management information systems (MISs), information systems governance (ISG), decision support systems (DSSs), executive support systems (ESSs), knowledge management systems (KMSs), and web application architecture (WAA) to predict EAA acceptance.

Background: Given the effervescent nature of external dynamic exasperations (EDEs) and uncertainties, this article enterprise application architecture (EAA) evaluates the probable effect on actual adoption of enterprise application architecture for supply chain management (SCM). Actual adoption (AA) of EAA is a major need for small and medium, hence the legal frameworks are there to ensure compliance on complex legal and regulatory constraints, a lack of external financing, low technological capacity, relative advantage, hardware systems and software systems compatibility. Objective: The central objective of this article is to establish whether EDEs affect the AA of EAA for SCM in SMEs, as well as supply chain success factors with five models used to identify the statistics gaps, which could be constructive for descriptive and correlational research studies. Method: A quantitative approach under correlational research is considered to investigate the relationships between variables without interventions and manipulations from the researcher. Results: To increase the reliability of measures, each variable was tested for data reliability and validity through Cronbach's alpha and Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, chronologically. The results indicate that EDEs have a direct impact on the AA of EAA as encrypted in Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), Pearson's coefficient and linear regression. Conclusion: The study revealed that EDEs have positive impact on the AA of EAA. Contribution: Consequently, this study makes a prominent contribution to research on the benefits of AA of EAA by signifying the effectuation theory by maintaining control on possibilities with foreseeable outcomes; then EDEs will be history.
Adoption Drivers in Decision Making of Enterprise Software Systems Implemented in Mexican SMEs

The successful implementation of Enterprise Systems (ES) in large companies to manage the logistics processes has spiked the interest for small and medium enterprise (SME) to consider implementation. However, given the relatively low capital and relatively high failure rate of small companies, the feasibility of utilizing and implementing such a system in small companies to manage logistics activities is in question. A method to examine the feasibility of implementing full scale ES for small companies based on the company resources, needs and readiness will assist small businesses in decision making and reduce the risk of failure. The objective of this study is to establish main adoption drivers to select information technologies that assists small companies to determine the feasibility of implementing full scale systems and the necessity to utilize a custom-made software system to manage logistics activities when an ES implementation is not feasible. A survey was administered to small companies in Mexico to identify the critical factors in implementing an ES, including the technology, organization, economic and operational requirements, and the readiness of the small company. Preliminary results show that small companies in Mexico tend to adopt these systems based on recommendations and advice; economic and operational feasibility were not part of the decision.
Adoption of e-commerce applications in SMEs

Purpose -The purpose of this paper is to examine the factors within the technology-organization-environment (TOE) framework that affect the decision to adopt electronic commerce (EC) and extent of EC adoption, as well as adoption and non-adoption of different EC applications within small-and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Design/methodology/approach -A questionnaire-based survey was conducted to collect data from 235 managers or owners of manufacturing SMEs in Iran. The data were analyzed by employing factorial analysis and relevant hypotheses were derived and tested by multiple and logistic regression analysis. Findings -EC adoption within SMEs is affected by perceived relative advantage, perceived compatibility, CEO's innovativeness, information intensity, buyer/supplier pressure, support from technology vendors, and competition. Similarly, description on determinants of adoption and non-adoption of different EC applications has been provided. Research limitations/implications -Cross-sectional data of this research tend to have certain limitations when it comes to explaining the direction of causality of the relationships among the variables, which will change overtime. Practical implications -The findings offer valuable insights to managers, IS experts, and policy makers responsible for assisting SMEs with entering into the e-marketplace. Vendors should collaborate with SMEs to enhance the compatibility of EC applications with these businesses. To enhance the receptiveness of EC applications, CEOs, innovativeness and perception toward EC advantages should also be aggrandized. Originality/value -This study is perhaps one of the first to use a wide range of variables in the light of TOE framework to comprehensively assess EC adoption behavior, both in terms of initial and post-adoption within SMEs in developing countries, as well adoption and non-adoption of simple and advanced EC applications such as electronic supply chain management systems.
E-supply chain operational and behavioural perspectives: an empirical study of Malaysian SMEs

A review of the literature suggests that much of the existing e-supply chain adoption literature is not firmly grounded in theory. Where many previous studies have identified technology as the key determinant, we argue that operational and behavioural perspectives should be duly taken into consideration while adopting e-technology. Therefore, inspired by the systems engineering principles, we propose a generic framework for evaluating business performance of e-supply chain companies. A questionnaire was designed and survey data from 208 Malaysian SMEs was collected. Structural equation modelling (SEM) was employed to test the impact of Supply Chain Strategy, E-Business Adoption, and the interaction of these constructs, on overall Business Performance. With regards to the operational perspective the results suggest that E-Business Adoption relates more positively to Business Performance compared to Supply Chain Strategy construct. Also, Technology Capability scored relatively higher compared to Organisational Capability and Attitudinal Capability. Overall Supply Chain Relationship (behavioural perspective) demonstrates a relatively weak result. Our findings suggest that where Malaysian SMEs are technology orientated, however, they need to develop efficient logistics networks to cater for a geographically dispersed population. Also, they need to pay serious attention towards 'softer' issues, in that to bring about attitudinal changes that allow developing closer collaboration with their supply chain companies. We argue that operational and behavioural perspectives can be embedded within the systems engineering principles that provide necessary theoretical underpinning for conducting such a research. The empirical findings provide useful guidelines for SMEs that wish to embark upon an e-business adoption journey. Furthermore, the measures produced here can be used as a benchmarking exercise for the SMEs who have already adopted e-technology.
Adoption of E-Commerce and Electronic Supply Chain Management (E-SCM) by small and medium enterprises (SMEs) has developed a tremendous performance in business process. SMEs in Pakistan are trying to enhance their competences by adopting a new technology to enter into the global market. The survey was aimed to investigate the current status and future direction of the adoption and benefits of E-Commerce and E-SCM by small and medium enterprises in Pakistan. A mailed questionnaire survey was conducted to collect data from 210 SMEs as samples located in Karachi, Gujranwala and Faisalabad, Pakistan. The results suggest that E-Commerce and E-SCM adoption has a significant, positive influence on SMEs, who have significantly higher average sales growth rate, on-time order management and delivery process than non-adopters. The findings of this study can be useful for SMEs in general as a means of understanding how E-Commerce and E-SCM adoption positively affects the firm’s performance.
Operational and Behavioural Dimensions of e-Supply Chains Among Malaysian's SMEs
This paper reviews the available literature to identify theoretical and empirical gaps regarding e-Supply chain adoption among small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs). We argue that a generic e-Supply chain framework should employ appropriate operational and behavioural perspectives. We propose that e-Supply chain operation can succeed only when integrated with an efficient supply chain network and a strategic plan committed to e-Business. Survey data from 208 Malaysian SMEs are collected and Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) is employed to apply the proposed framework. More specifically, a set of three empirical models are examined to evaluate the validity and impact of supply chain strategy, e-Business adoption, and the interaction of these constructs on business performance. Our review suggests that much of the existing e-Supply chain adoption and implementation literature is not firmly grounded in theory. We have suggested that the systems engineering tradition of focusing on the interactions of technology, organizational structure, and personnel provides a useful framework for understanding the business performance of e-Business. The technology-organisational and people (TOP) dimensions are based on sound systems engineering principles that are widely recognised and accepted for improving manufacturing organisation. We suggest that these principles are equally valid for the e-Business oriented and virtual organisations. These expectations are supported by our empirical results. We find that measures based on the TOP conceptual scheme provide reliable and valid scales that are equally applicable to both e-Business and none Business firms.
