Wild animals in urban environment: Subjectivity and relations

Abstract

Cities prove to be hybrid environments. The concept of hybrid is derived from the writings of French philosopher Bruno Latour, who applied the concept to describe different phenomena that have embedded in them the generally made distinctions between culture and nature, human and other animal (e.g. Latour 1993).
