Augmented reality geometry applications are developed based on today's learning needs, AR is able to present visualizations of building spaces from the virtual world to the real world through the android camera to the marker. The purpose of this study was to determine the practicality of geometry learning media assisted by the AR android application. This type of research is descriptive quantitative, with a practical questionnaire research instrument. The population of this study were all students of the mathematics study program, 408 students with a simple random sampling technique of 30 students. The technique of analyzing the practicality test data is descriptive statistical analysis. The results show that geometry learning media based on AR android by paying attention to the 6 (six) practical aspects, namely aspects of learning design, media display, software, materials, and benefits are in the very practical category, with a percentage of 94 %. This shows that AR media is very practical for learning.

Using augmented reality tools in the teaching of two-dimensional plane geometry

One of the successful components of quality assimilation of educational material and its further use in the learning process is visualization of material in secondary education institutions. Visualizations need the subjects of the school course, which are the most difficult to understand and essentially do not have at the beginning of the study of widespread practical application, mostly mathematical objects. That is why this study aimed to analyze mobile tools that can be used to visualize teaching geometry. The object of the study is the process of teaching geometry in the middle classes of secondary schools. The subject of the study is the use of augmented reality tools in teaching geometry to students in grades 7-9. The study used such research methods as the analysis and justification of the choice of mobile augmented reality for the study of mathematics. Analyses displayed two augmented reality tools: ArloonGeometry and Geometry AR. In order to gain geometry instruction’s acad...

Implementation of augmented reality-assisted learning media on three-dimensional shapes

Jurnal Elemen

This research is motivated by the low understanding of students in studying the object of geometry study. The media that had previously been used in the form of a spatial framework made of bamboo or iron turned out to take up quite a lot of space and was not practical to carry in large quantities. Therefore, efficient and practical media are needed to help visualize concrete objects in learning. This research aims to implement Augmented Reality (AR)-assisted learning media on the material of three-dimensional shapes. This study uses an explanatory qualitative method. The participant in this study was one student from one of the junior high schools in the Cirebon Regency. Data collection techniques used are through interviews and documentation. The analysis technique consists of three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and concluding. The results showed that the AR application could make it easier for the student to understand the material and solve the problem of three-dimen...

Student Learning Interest in the Use of Augmented Reality Media on Triangles and Quadrilaterals

MATEMATIKA DAN PEMBELAJARAN

Interactive multimedia is a learning model to generate thoughts, motivation, convey messages, and students' interests so as to encourage the teaching and learning process and the media is used to generate students' learning experiences to become more real. The purpose of the researchers conducting the research was to describe the interest in learning in students towards the use of Augmented media reality as learning media on triangle and quadrilateral material for class VII MTs. The researcher used a descriptive quantitative research method with 20 class VII MTs students as a random sample. This study used a non-test instrument in the form of a student learning interest questionnaire. Quantitative descriptive data analysis was used as a data analysis technique in this study. As for the results of student responses to the use of software Adobe Flash Cs6 Professional as a learning medium obtained a percentage with an average of 79.25% which is relatively high, this shows that ...

The effect of augmented reality assisted geometry instruction on students' achiveement and attitudes

Teaching Mathematics and Computer Science, 2015

In this study, geometry instruction's academic success for the students and their attitudes towards mathematics which is supported by education materials of Augmented Reality (AR) and its effect on the acceptance of AR and its usage by teachers and students have been researched. Under this research, ARGE3D software has been developed by using augmented reality technology as for the issue of geometric objects that is contained in the mathematics curriculum of 6th class of primary education. It has been provided with this software that three-dimensional static drawings can be displayed in a dynamic and interactive way. The research was conducted in two different schools by an experiment and control group. In the process of data collection, Geometry Achievement Test (GAT), Geometric Reasoning Test (GRT), Attitudes Scale for Mathematics (ASM), students' math lecture notes, semi-structured interviews with teachers and students and observation and video recordings were used. Results showed that geometry instruction with ARGE3D increased students' academic success. In addition, it was found that geometry instruction with ARGE3D became more effective on students' attitudes that had negative attitudes towards mathematics and it also provided support to reduce fear and anxiety

The potential of mobile augmented reality as a didactic and pedagogical source in learning geometry 3D

Journal of Technology and Science Education

The COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia requires teachers and students to perform learning activities online. Meanwhile, teachers use a variety of technology products in the classroom without paying attention to the didactic, pedagogical, and content aspects. This is due to time constraints and short learning adjustments that should be flexible to this pandemic. Therefore, this research provides an alternative by exploring the potential of augmented reality as a didactic and pedagogical source in learning geometry. An exploratory case study design was used to reveal this potential, while three mathematics teachers and twenty-six students from three schools in Indramayu Regency, Indonesia, participated in the research. Data from observations and documentation were checked, extracted, entered verbatim, and coded. The results of the interview data were analyzed using the content analysis method, while those from the geometry understanding test and student response questionnaires used descri...

J I M P - Jurnal Informatika Merdeka Pasuruan, 2018

This research motivated by rapid development of smartphone usage among students and the lack of effective and interesting learning methods for IPS-geography lessons, especially material of rock types at junior high school. This is because material of rock types is difficult to find in various school environments. Augmented Reality is technology that developing rapidly, one is widely developed in the field of education. The advantage of Augmented Reality is an attractive visual appearance, because it can display objects in 3 dimensions that seem exist in real environment. The method used is Marker Based AR that uses markers to bring up 3D objects and Occlusion Based Method in the Virtual Button. By using Augmented Reality technology on the application developed it is expected to be used as an alternative learning media to introduce rock types that can facilitate students to understand material and increase the attractiveness of students to learn the material. Alpha testing features on the application are running well, especially the Occlusion Based Method implemented in Virtual Button. The results of beta testing indicate that application can make students better understand the material and increase students' interest in learning rock type material because it provides different learning experience.

Analysis of implementation Augmented Reality (AR) introduction of temple and ancient objects based on android to increasing student learning outcomes

IOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering

Malang is one of the tourist areas in Indonesia which has many tourist attractions, among them the form of the temple. The temple and the Archaeological Museum of history that cannot be eliminated from our country, this time temples and Archaeological Objects rarely known or even visited by the public. This is particularly worrying given the duty as good citizens, especially the younger generation successor to the nation is to maintain and preserve the cultural heritage of their ancestors. distance and time is a major obstacle that makes the temples and archaeological objects are less attractive to the younger generation especially school students, therefore designed an application that implements Augmented Reality to support the introduction of interactive learning Temples and Archaeological Objects based on Android. A questionnaire was developed using the USE Questionnaire with modifications as needed research. While the analysis of data using Likert scale calculations. Based on the results of the analysis of the implementation of the game as a learning medium can be concluded that the application can be applied and get approval from the user of 85.85%. Based on the result of student learning result test, it can be concluded that the application with Augmented Reality technology helps them to study the temples and ancient objects, with the increase of Student Learning Result of 36.67%
