Abstract

Dental implant-associated infections as peri-implantitis represent one of the major causes of osteointegration failures of oral implants. Adhesion of Porphyromonas gingivalis, one of the bacterial strains mainly involved in such infections, is tightly dependent on the topographical and/or physico-chemical properties of the implant surfaces.
