Since Middle East has been facing oil crisis as a result of sharp fall in oil price in international market, the importance of entrepreneurship has been increased indefatigably as an alternative to fortify and boost the Middle East economies. Entrepreneurship is held in higher esteem being major influence in bolstering any economy. Against this backdrop, the current study is an attempt to explore how Omani students are inspired to opt entrepreneurship as their aspired endeavour in future and how they can be motivated to adopt entrepreneurial career. Exploratory research has been conducted on the students of two colleges from different geographical areas to endorse and validate the proposition. Empirical findings of the present study conclude that attitude towards entrepreneurship (ATE) and perceived behavioural control (PBC) are the strongest predicators of entrepreneurial intentions (EI) among Omani students. Government and educational institutions are formulated to foster entrepreneurial intent among students by providing conducive educational environment and business incubation services. However subjective norms (SN) have been concluded as a weaker predicator of EI. That reveals a less social and family pressure on the students for entrepreneurial career because of some cultural constraints of the Gulf region.

International Journal of Business and Applied Social Science, 2019
This study is trying to shed some lights on the ways that entrepreneurship intentions are developed. Depending on the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) the study tries to trace the effect of Omani Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) student’s attitudes towards entrepreneurial intentions to start-up. Practical analysis has been carried out on a sample of (2123) HEIs’ students of Oman. Through self-administered questionnaire, the data was collected and analysed using appropriate statistics tools. Hypothesis was tested and correlation matrices were developed to test the correlations between these two variables. The results show that the entrepreneurial attitudes of HEIs’ students in Oman positively related to their entrepreneurial intentions. This relationship between attitudes and intention was measured and it was found that the amount of variation in students’ intentions that is accounted for attitudes is 55 percent. The F ratio is found large 2550.7, which reflects the greater variation in intention that is explained by attitudes.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is a young, oil-rich country, where national youth display a clear preference for public sector employment. Growing youth unemployment reinforces the importance of non-government employment, including entrepreneurship. Validating the Entrepreneurial Intention Model on the University Students in Saudi Arabia
The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Business, 2020
The main objective of this paper is to examine the applicability of Linan and Chen's entrepreneurial intention model (EIM) in predicting the entrepreneurial intention. EIM is an adaptation of the Theory of Planned Behavior that focuses on entrepreneurial intention and hypothesizing slightly different patterns of relationship with regards to subjective norms. The model also includes human capital and demographic factors. Snowball sampling method was used to collect data using the entrepreneurial intention questionnaire (EIQ) through several social media platforms. The survey indicates that the overall entrepreneurial intention of Saudi students is high (mean = 5.41). Eight out of the seventeen hypothesized relationships were found to be significant. Among the demographic variables, gender-personal attitude was significant whereas self employment experience and years of business education were found to be significantly related with perceived behavioral control. The statistical analysis using partial least square structural equation modelling validated the model. All the three antecedents of entrepreneurial intention were significantly related with entrepreneurial intention. The results of this study will help policy makers to get deep understanding into the phenomenon of entrepreneurship among Saudi university students and thereby develop a conducive environment. This study also validates the entrepreneurial intention model in a different cultural context.
