Generation of Electricity Using Road Transport Pressure
Energy is the basic need for the development of the modern world. For meeting up the regular demand of energy we need to design a system that will produce electricity without destroying the nature. This paper attempts to show how man has been utilizing and optimizing kinetic energy. Researches show that the world has already had its enough shares of its energy resources. Fossil fuels pollute the environment. Nuclear energy requires careful handling of both raw as well as waste material. The focus now is shifting more and more towards the renewable sources of energy, which are essentially, non-polluting. This paper attempts to show how energy can be produced, stored and used using the road transport pressure or any kind of pressure. The number of vehicles passing over the speed breaker in roads is increasing day by day. There is possibility of tapping the energy and generating power by making the speed breaker as a power generation unit. The generated power can be used for the lamps near the speed breakers and this will be a great boon for the rural villages too.
The Prototype of Road Power Generator

This paper presents the prototype of Road Power Generator (RPG) to convert the compression force from the traffic into the electricity. The RPG consists of two main parts: the mechanical part and the generator part. The mechanical part comprises of three compartments: ramp-up plate, flat plate and ramp-down plate. A folded plate is embedded into the center of the flat plate with slope of slightly less than 26 degrees. It transfers the compression force to drive the generator. The generator part uses the evaporator motor as a generator. The RPG is tested by riding a motorcycle passing RPG. The RPG test is divided into two tests including no-load test and resistance load test. For no-load test, it was found that the induced voltage from a generator will increase when the weight increases. For load test, the motorcycle with a weight of 170 kilograms is riding pass along the RPG which connects the resistance load varying from 43 to 787ohms. The results showed that the RPG produces the maximum power of 10.98W at load 43ohms while the speed, the induced voltage, and the current are 489.33 RPM, 27.67V, and 0.397mA, respectively. In addition, the RPG produces a maximum voltage of 82V at load more than 579ohms and speed 522-535RPM.
Electricity Generation Using Speed Breaker

Energy is the primary need for survival especially for mankind. Everything that happens in the surrounding is the expression of flow of energy in one of the forms. But in this fast moving world, population is increasing day by day and the conventional energy sources are lessening. The extensive usage of energy has resulted in an energy crisis over the few years. Therefore, to overcome this problem we need to implement the techniques of optimal utilization of conventional sources for conservation of energy. This project includes how to utilize the energy which is wasted when the vehicles passes over a speed breaker. Lots of energy is generated when vehicle passes over it. We can tap the energy generated and produce power by using the speed breaker as power generating unit. The kinetic energy of the moving vehicles can be converted into mechanical energy of the shaft through rack and pinion mechanism which is an electromechanical principle. Then, this mechanical energy will be converted to electrical energy using generator which will be saved with the use of a battery. The energy we save during the day light can be used in the night time for lighting street lights. Therefore, by using this arrangement sufficient energy can be generated to meet various daily need. This work focuses to generate energy from speed breaker by making gear arrangement. To make the system more efficient a pressure transducer i.e. piezoelectric crystal can be used that will convert vehicle pressure into electrical output. The output of system can also be monitored on real time basis using Wi-Fi based module. This will lessen the dependency on energy produced by conventional process to some extent.

ABSTRACT In the present day scenario the fossil fuel sources are fast depleting and their combustion products are causing global environmental problems. So it is inevitable to shift towards the use of renewable energy resources which in turn will reduce pollution and saves fossil fuels. For meeting the regular demand of the energy we need to design a system such that electricity can be produced without destroying the nature. Road power generation is an alternative technology which uses the pressure due to the weight of vehicles for generation of power. Our project attempts to show how energy can be tapped and used at a commonly used system, the road speed breakers. The number of vehicles passing over the speed breaker on the roads is increasing day by day. There is possibility of tapping the energy and generating power by making the speed breaker as a power generation unit. The generated power can be used to light up nearby street lights. In the present work, a working model of the power generation unit is made. A similar model of the system has also been modeled in Pro-E. Design of each component is carried out using standard procedures. The components are fabricated and are finally assembled. The linear motion of the lever is converted into rotary motion using a crank shaft. The speed obtained is in turn amplified by using a set of gears. This amplified speed is used to run a generator to produce power. Theoretical calculations of power and the practical power obtained are compared in order to find the efficiency of the power generation unit. The utilization of energy is an indication of growth of a nation. This work utilizes one of the best sources of energy we get in our day to day life.
GENERATION OF ELECTRICITY WITH THE USE OF SPEED BREAKERS
In this paper we are trying to utilize one such source. Electricity is generated by replacing the traditional speed breakers with some simple mechanism. As vehicles pass over the speed breakers, they spin the rollers which are connected to a generator which in turn generate electricity. This method is an effective way to produce electricity as the numbers of vehicles on the road are ever increasing. Also the cost of fabrication of the model is low. It can be effectively placed near traffic lights, at the entrance of parking lots and any other place where the traffic density is high. Rollers are fixed on a wooden ramp on which vehicle passes. As vehicle passes over it, it starts moving. A chain drive mechanism is provided which transfer the motion to a DC motor/generator for electricity generation. This method provides an efficient way to generate electricity from the kinetic energy of moving vehicles in roads, highways, parking lots etc.

Industrialized modern world consumes vast amount of energy mostly in the form of electrical energy. From recent statistics on global warming, fuel shortage, pollution, problems with nuclear power and deregulation of electrical energy indicates that failure of investigating new energy sources to generate electricity can cause a huge power crisis in the near future, especially for people of developing countries like india. Therefore, to meet future energy demand, it is must to implement some new ideas for optimal utilization of conventional sources through conservation of energy. This research shows a way to utilize the energy in the form of jerking pressure which is wasted during the vehicles passes over a speed breaker. Normally, a lot of energy is produced due to jerking which can be tapped and converted to electricity by using a simple mechanism called roller mechanism very easily and efficiently. The amount of generated electricity depends on the number of vehicle and weight of the vehicle passing over the speed breaker. Due to the high increasing rate of vehicle number day by day, this system can fulfill the demand of electricity of a small area, very effectively and can be treated as a mini power plant for an individual area.

Our project attempts to show how energy can be tapped and used at a commonly used system, the Road speed breakers .The count of vehicles are increasing day by day, so this paper intends a method where the kinetic energy at the speed breaker can be converted into mechanical energy by using Rack and Pinion mechanism and that mechanical energy can be converted to electrical energy using a dynamo. For obtaining the electricity through the speed breaker a model is developed and studied using MATLAB.

This study aims to create an automotive-speed-breaker power generator that uses two activation strokes to operate. It transforms the transport drive and brings direct gestures of the rack gear into the revolution of the immobilized gear keyed on the shaft and generator. The machine is motivated by the compression and release of the springs, which raises the machine's output. A stable frame, a dome-shaped prime, a shaft, and flywheel mechanism, a cable and sprocket system, glides, springs, a flywheel, rods, a generator, and a profound series of the battery-operated brand up this device. Utilizing engineering principles, the style was completed considering cost, utility, simplicity of use, durability, and performance. It was created with a model rated at 100kg in mind and is intended to be motivated by vehicles weighing 1,600kg (400kg each wheel).

As we know the demand of electric energy increase day by day result is an energy crisis and therefore to overcome this problem we found alternative source of electrical energy The principle of energy conservation states that energy is neither created nor destroyed. It may transform from one type to another. With help of concept we get an idea that speed breakers generating electrical energy for us, Basically the Vehicle kinetic energy may be transformed to mechanical energy, which can then be converted to electrical energy using a shaft to rack and pinion system with simply coupling stepper motor as a generator then we can store the energy and utilize for several purposes.
