Achieving Integrated Urban Water Management via the Planning System in WA (original) (raw)
2006
Abstract
This paper describes a process to improve the achievement of water sensitive urban design (WSUD) outcomes in new development through ensuring greater integration of land use and water planning. The framework was developed as part of a greenfield urban development demonstration project in the south-eastern suburbs of Perth. The framework provides guidance on the issues to be addressed to ensure better achievement of total water cycle management in planning applications, plans and strategies at appropriate stages in the process.
