Optimization of fuzzy production inventory models
Information Sciences, 2002
⎯In this paper, we introduce a fuzzy Economic Production Quantity (EPQ) model with defective products that can be repaired. In this model, we consider a fuzzy opportunity cost, trapezoidal fuzzy costs and quantities into the traditional production inventory model. We use Function Principle and Graded Mean Integration Representation Method to find optimal economic production quantity of the fuzzy production inventory model.
A fuzzy multi-item production model with reliability
Abstract: A multi-item EPQ model for deteriorating items is built-up with limited storage space and with flexibility and reliability of production process. Here, production rate for the items is depends on the demand and items deteriorate at constant rates. Due to high rent in market place, storage space is considered limited and imprecise in nature. Inventory related costs, storage space and other parameters are imprecise and taken as it triangular fuzzy number. We solve this inventory decision problem using Modified Geometric Programming (MGP) method. Following the theoretical treatment, we provide a numerical example to demonstrate that MGP has potential as a valuable analytical tool for researchers. At the end some sensitivity analysis with different parameters are made. Keywords: storage space; triangular fuzzy number; MGP; modified geometric programming; flexibility; reliability.

The classical inventory control models assume that items are produced by perfectly reliable production process with a fixed setup cost. While the reliability of the production process cannot be increased without a price, its setup cost can be reduced with investment in flexibility improvement. In this paper, a production inventory model with flexibility and reliability (of production process) consideration is developed in an imprecise and uncertain mixed environment. The aim of this paper is to introduce demand as a fuzzy random variable in an imperfect production process. Here, the setup cost and the reliability of the production process along with the production period are the decision variables. Due to fuzzy-randomness of the demand, expected average profit of the model is a fuzzy quantity and its graded mean integration value (GMIV) is optimized using unconstraint signomial geometric programming to determine optimal decision for the decision maker (DM). A numerical example has been considered to illustrate the model.

An Economic Production Quantity Model with Time Dependent Demand under Fuzzy environment
In this paper, an economic production quantity model is considered under fuzzy environment. As the demand cost and holding cost are imprecise in nature, both the costs are considered by fuzzy triangular numbers. Graded Mean Representation Method, Signed Distance Method and Centroid Method are used to defuzzify the total cost function. The results obtained by these methods are compared with the help of a numerical example. Sensitivity analysis is also carried out to explore the effect of changes in the values of some of the system parameters.
A Fuzzy Imperfect Production Inventory Model Based on Fuzzy Differential and Fuzzy Integral Method
Journal of Risk and Financial Management
In the inventory theory, to treat the uncertainty, the fuzzy set concept is used in order to provide a feasible approach to deal with the uncertainty problem. In this research work, a fuzzy economic production quantity model with interactive fuzzy demands is proposed. In a production process, in the beginning, the system is assumed to be in a controlled state in which only perfect items are manufactured. Later, the manufacturing production process shifts to be an out-of-control-state system; producing both perfect and imperfect items simultaneously, this is considered as a fuzzy state. The defective production rate is also taken into account as a fuzzy state. Here, the selection process of produced items is realized during the production period. With the aim of studying the practical feasibility of the fuzzy economic production inventory model along with a sensitivity analysis of some parameters, different numerical examples are illustrated.
A Fuzzy Production-Distribution Inventory Model with Shortage
International Journal of Innovation and Applied Studies, 2013
A Production-Distribution inventory model with shortages and unit cost dependent demand has been formulated along with possible constraints. In most of the real world situations, the cost parameters are imprecise in nature. Hence, the unit cost is imposed here in fuzzy environment. Due to complexity, the proposed model has been solved by LINGO software. The model is also solved for without shortages as the special case. The model is illustrated with a numerical example.
MATHEMATICAL MODEL FOR INVENTORY CONTROL PROBLEM USING IMPRECISE PARAMETERS
International Journal of Students’ Research in Technology & Management, 2018
Abstract. In this paper, an inventory control problem is discussed using imprecise parameters. The fusion of geometric programming and fuzzy logic is used as imprecise parameters to solve inventory control problems. In inventory, holding costs, set-up costs, etc. may be flexible due to vague information. Fuzzy set theory is used to convert the inventory model crisp to fuzzy for producing flexible output. Compensatory operator is used to aggregate the fuzzy membership functions corresponding to fuzzy sets for fuzzy objectives and constraints. This aggregation gives the overall achievement function and the model known as fuzzy geometric programming mod
Stability of Production Planning Problem with Fuzzy Parameters
Open Journal of Applied Sciences, 2012
The traditional production planning model based upon the famous linear programming formulation has been well known in the literature. The consideration of uncertainty in manufacturing systems supposes a great advance. Models for production planning which do not recognize the uncertainty can be expected to generate inferior planning decisions as compared to models that explicitly account the uncertainty. This paper deals with production planning problem with fuzzy parameters in both of the objective function and constraints. We have a planning problem to maximize revenues net of the production inventory and lost sales cost. The existing results concerning the qualitative and quantitative analysis of basic notions in parametric production planning problem with fuzzy parameters. These notions are the set of feasible parameters, the solvability set and the stability set of the first kind.
