Effect of Soil Copper and Salinity on Growth and Chemical Composition of Two Pistachio Cultivars
JWSS - Isfahan University of Technology, 2012
A greenhouse experiment was conducted to study the effects of soil copper (Cu) and salinity on growth and chemical composition of two pistachio cultivars. A factorial experiment was carried out as a completely randomized design with three replications. Treatments consisted of four Cu levels (0, 2.5, 5, and 7.5 mg Kg-1 soil as CuSO 4 .2H 2 O), five salinity levels (0, 800, 1600, 2400, and 3200 mg NaCl Kg-1 soil) and two pistachio cultivars (Badami-e-Zarand and Ghazvini). Results showed that salinity significantly decreased growth parameters. Application of 3200 mg NaCl Kg-1 soil decreased shoot and root dry weights, leaf area and stem height by 67, 72, 45 and 76 % respectively. Application of 7.5 mg Cu Kg-1 soil increased shoot dry weight and leaf area by 24 and 26% respectively. Morever, there was no significant difference between growth parameters of two pistachio cultivars, except for leaf area index. Salinity stress significantly decreased shoot and root P, k and Cu total uptake, and increased that of Na and Cl. Application of 5 mg Cu Kg-1 soil significantly increased shoot Cu uptake. Since total uptake of all elements for Badami cultivar was significantly higher than the Ghazvini, it could be concluded that the latter cultivar is probably more resistant to the saline conditions.

This experiment was carried out in plant tissue culture laboratory a part of bio technology research center (BTRC) , while the main aim for this experiment was to investigate the effects of using plant growth regulators on potato micro tuber formation for Sponta potato variety throw plant tissue culture method , In the beginning micro propagation operations were done to the target potato variety in order to obtain enough number of plants samples in free contamination MS media , while different concentrations of BA and Kin plant growth regulators ( 0 , 1 , 2 , 3 mg/l ) were used in this experiment , the plant growth regulators BA ,Kin were added to MS media contain 60g/l sucrose during micro tuber formation stage . the results of this study showed that the treatment of (5mg/l Kin ) obtained the best results and this treatment gave the highest tuber production compared with other treatments , furthermore this treatment ( 5mg/l Kin) gave the highest number of produced potato tuber and ...
IRAQI JOURNAL OF DESERT STUDIES
The field experiment is conducted in sandy loam soil during the spring season of 2021 in western Iraq, Hit district, Anbar Governorate. It is located at longitude 95° 42ꞌ 25ʺ N and latitude 68° 33ꞌ 42ʺ E at 71 m.asl. This study aims to study the effect of irrigation and plough on the yield and efficiency of water use of the Chenopodium quinoa plant in desert soil in western Iraq. The experiment layout includes three tillage patterns) No-tillage To, minimum tillage T1, and conventional tillage T2), three irrigation treatments)ET 0.75-ET 1.00-ET 1.25(, and a randomized complete block design is used with three replicates. Treatment T2 ET 1.00 has the highest drought resistance of 0.1793 and the highest plant length of 118.4 cm for T2 ET 1.25 treatment with an increase of 70% compared to the lowest value of plant length in the treatment To ET 0.75. The highest value of plant branches is 22 for T2 ET 1.25. The highest value of leaf area is 32.87 cm 2 for T2 ET 1.25 treatment. Seed yield has reached the highest value of 5.25 tons ha-1 for the treatment T2 ET 1.25. Root length characteristic has reached the highest root length value with 41.67 cm for T2 ET 1.25. The water use efficiency characteristic has reached the highest value of 0.204 kg.m-3 for the treatment T2 ET 1.00. The highest crop coefficient value has been reached in the ET 1.25 treatment during the germination and growth phase.
Regeneration of White Lupin, Lupinus albus, Plants form Hypocotyl Stems
Rafidain Journal of Science, 2018
This study succeeded in regenerating the white lupin, Lupinus albus, plants from differentiated the hypocotyl stems callus of its sterilized seedlings. The results indicated to superior the solid Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium provided with 1.0 mg L-1 NAA in callus initiation with 90% after 20 days of culture from the other of selected media. The rate of the value of the callus fresh weight was 3.3 gm after 40 days of growth, which gives indication on the viability and activity of callus. The continued of callus subculture on the same its initiated medium led to spontaneous production of 22 shoots. These regenerated shoots rooted when cultivated in MSO with its full strength at ratio 50% after 26 days, producing the whole lupin plants in the culture media.
