042 Tunica Albuginea Structural Changes in Erectile Dysfunction Patients: First Clinical Evidence And Pathophysiological Implications (original) (raw)
This study investigates the structural changes in the tunica albuginea of patients suffering from erectile dysfunction (ED) and proposes a potential pathophysiological link to penile adipose tissue accumulation. Through a multicenter case-control design, sub-albuginean fat accumulation was compared between refractory ED patients and potent individuals experiencing Peyronie's disease. Results demonstrated a significant relationship between ED and increased adipocyte presence under the tunica albuginea, suggesting that fat deposition may contribute to venous leakage and further ED.
