Impact of Integration in Consumer Electronics on the performance of MB-OFDM UWB
2009
In this paper the effect of antenna integration in typical UWB consumer electronic products on the entire system performance is evaluated for a system model based on MB- OFDM. The antenna in its specific integration scenario is characterized by the full wave FDTD method. Different deterministic indoor channels are characterized using ray- tracing simulation. Based on the analysis the channel transfer function, including the antennas can be derived in terms of S- parameters. From the transfer function of the antennas and the channels different antenna and channel related measures like RMS delay spread or frequency depended radiation pattern are derived. In order to evaluate the impact on the entire link performance a MatLab Simulink model of a UWB system is used to model the entire system. The system related parameters like BER (Bit Error Rate) are evaluated with reference to different antenna integrations and link scenarios.
Indoor Agriculture: Measurement of The Intensity of LED for Optimum Photosynthetic Recovery
Proceeding of the Electrical Engineering Computer Science and Informatics, 2018
Indoor agriculture has begun in urban areas. With the narrowness of land and the model of vertical house development, makes this method of indoor agriculture has become a trend in several big cities in the world. Meanwhile, the one that is always needed by every plant is photosynthesis, and every natural photosynthesis of plants continually requires a biotic components of visible light from sunlight. That's why the indoor agriculture requires a replacement source of the sun with artificial sunlight. We can make this artificial sunlight from several light sources, such as incandescent lamps, compact fluorescent lamps (CFL), or the latest with Light Emitting Diode (LED). In this paper, we measured the intensity of light generated from several LEDs with some radiation distance to obtain the optimal energy for plants photosynthesis.
Zoltan data management services for parallel dynamic applications
Computing in Science & Engineering, 2002
simplifies the load-balancing, data movement, unstructured-communication, and memory usage difficulties that arise in dynamic applications such as adaptive finite-element methods, particle methods, and crash simulations. Zoltan's data-structure-neutral design also lets a wide range of applications use it without imposing restrictions on application data structures. Its objectbased interface provides a simple and inexpensive way for application developers to use the library and researchers to make new capabilities available under a common interface.
Simultaneous Multiple Assays On Microfluidic Cloth-Based Analytical Devices
On behalf of the entire ICA organizing committee, it is my great pleasure to welcome all participants to the 2011 2 nd International Conference on Instrumentation, Control and Automation (ICA2011) in Bandung, Indonesia. This is the second international conference of the previously known ICA 2009 after for more than 20 years had conducted similar events for national scale. ICA becomes regularly biannual event held by Instrumentation and Control Research Group, Faculty of Industrial Technology, Bandung Institute of Technology. The rapid growth in instrumentation and control areas has motivated us to improve the previous conference into an international conference that will be held frequently with inclusion of automation topic. ICA2011 has attracted a great number of academicians, scientists, engineers, postgraduates and other professionals all over the world. The aim of the conference is to stimulate interaction among engineers, researchers, and scientists active in these areas. It provides a high-level international forum to present, to exchange and to discuss recent advances, new techniques and applications in the field of instrumentation, control and automation. This event is co-sponsored by Faculty of Industrial Technology, Bandung Institute of Technology. I would like to take this opportunity to express my special thanks for their great support, which is very important for our conference. In addition, we are fortunate to have a team of world-renowned plenary speakers, including Prof. Dr.
Accompaniment separation and karaoke application based on automatic melody transcription
2008 IEEE International Conference on Multimedia and Expo, 2008
We propose a method for separating accompaniment from polyphonic music and its karaoke application, both based on automatic melody transcription. First, the method transcribes the lead-vocal melody of an existing polyphonic music piece, where the transcription consists of a MIDI note sequence and a detailed fundamental frequency (F0) trajectory for each note. Based on the note F0 trajectories, the method uses sinusoidal modeling to estimate, synthesize, and remove the lead vocals in the piece, thus producing separated accompaniment of the piece. User sings along with the separated accompaniment similar to karaoke while the user singing can be tuned to the transcribed melody. This will help non-professional singers to produce more appealing karaoke performances. The quality of separated accompaniments was quantitatively evaluated with approximately one hour of polyphonic music, including material from a commercial karaoke DVD.
Selection the Way to Start Business Based on Social Media Features
2014 IEEE ISTMET (International Symposium on Technology Management and Emerging Technology), 2014
Entrepreneurship intention from college student nowadays is increasing. The development of Information and Communication Technology such as social media which widely followed by college students has the potential to support that intention. This research examined selection the way to start business based on social media features at Telkom University student. The results showed that the students are divided into two groups, students who understand social media features in accordance with their perceptions (Group One) and students who understand that social media features in very accordance with their perceptions (Group Two). Students more interested in pioneering new business as a way to start a business rather than franchise. By using MANOVA, this research found a relation between way to start business with social media features known. Student of Group Two had a higher confidence in selecting the way to start business compared with Group One. This research also found that the most frequently used social media by students, either Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or Path does not affect the way to start their business later.
architectural or mechanical-engineering models, the appearance of a software system's model diagram is only marginally related to the represented software design's quality. The drawing activity is, however, a creative task providing immediate feedback; software engineers thus often focus on delivering a nice picture rather than an effective design.
