Integrated Water Quality Testing Device (original) (raw)

Advanced Water Quality Monitoring Using Microcontroller

This research aims to make an efficient portable device which can be monitoring the quality of water and make aware the consumer or user about the water they are going to drink or use. The contamination in water supply is biggest problem right now in world. Rural area's water supply system is not stronger as compare to urban locality. Rural area population is blindly depended on water filter system because they don't have any testing module under their budget limit. In this, the main water parameters are going to be carried out like TDS, Turbidity, hardness, and conductivity and monitored with help of microcontroller and different sensors. Innovation Challenge to develop 'portable devices' for testing drinking water quality.

AQUASENSE: Sensor Based Water Quality Monitoring Device

Proceedings of the International Conference on Self Sustainable Artificial Intelligence Systems (ICSSAS 2023), 2023

Water is an essential part of living organisms. The Industrialization has caused immense contamination of potable water. Hence water quality monitors play an important role in detection of contamination in these water bodies. There are many water quality monitors available in the market for the detection of level of contamination. This research study discusses about the effective usage of Arduino UNO board, sensors to measure temperature, TDS and pH to measure the water quality. Hence, the main aim of this research study is to find the TDS, temperature and pH of the water samples collected from various places in Bangalore City, Karnataka, and conclude regarding the quality of the water whether it is portable to use for drinking and domestic purpose.

Water Quality Monitoring with Arduino Based Sensors

Environments, 2021

Water is a quintessential element for the survival of mankind. Its variety of uses means that it is always in a constant state of demand. The supply of water most primarily comes from large reservoirs of water such as lakes, streams, and the ocean itself. As such, it is good practice to monitor its quality to ensure it is fit for human consumption. Current water quality monitoring is often carried out in traditional labs but is time consuming and prone to inaccuracies. Therefore, this paper aims to investigate the feasibility of implementing an Arduino-based sensor system for water quality monitoring. A simple prototype consisting of a microcontroller and multiple attached sensors was employed to conduct weekly onsite tests at multiple daily intervals. It was found that the system works reliably but is reliant on human assistance and prone to data inaccuracies. The system however, provides a solid foundation for future expansion works of the same category to elevate the system to being Internet of Things (IoT) friendly.

Portable Arduino-Based Integrated Water Quality Analyzer with Real-Time Data Transmitter

MATTER: International Journal of Science and Technology, 2020

In our society, there is an accelerated rate of morbidity and mortality worldwide stemming from various water-related diseases. Thus, safety is the most critical factor in decision making for safe-drinking water. Moreover, prompt acquisition of on-the-spot information regarding water quality is still a challenge due to the unavailability of portable devices that can give vital information which hinders the resolution of water-related problems. Another challenge is the

Design and Implementation of a Low-Cost Portable Water Quality Monitoring System

Computers, materials & continua, 2021

Water is one of the needs with remarkable significance to man and other living things. Water quality management is a concept based on the continuous monitoring of water quality. The monitoring scheme aims to accumulate data to make decisions on water resource descriptions, identify real and emergent issues involving water pollution, formulate priorities, and plan for water quality management. The regularly considered parameters when conducting water quality monitoring are turbidity, pH, temperature, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, chemical oxygen demand, biochemical oxygen demand, ammonia, and metal ions. The usual method employed in capturing these water parameters is the manual collection and sending of samples to a laboratory for detection and analysis. However, this method is impractical in the long run because it is laborious and consumes a considerable amount of human resources. Sensors integrated into a mobile phone application interface can address this issue. This paper aims to design and implement an Internet of Things-based system comprising pH, temperature, and turbidity sensors, which are all integrated into a mobile phone application interface for a water monitoring system. This project utilizes the Bluetooth Standard (IEEE 802.15.1) for communication/transfer of data, while the water quality monitoring system relies on the pH, turbidity, and temperature of the test water.

A SURVEY OF WATER QUALITY MEASUREMENT SENSORS

Water is an essential factor for sustaining life on earth andits adequate and safe supply must be accessible to all. As improved water quality is beneficial for health. Every possible effort should be made in that direction. Water quality depends on various physical and chemical standards such as color, turbidity, pH, temperature, DO (dissolved oxygen), conductivity and TDS (total dissolved solid). This paper presents a systematic survey of existing water quality measurement techniques which consist of traditional and modern approach of water quality analysis. It also includes a list of different water quality parameters and sensors used for quality analysis along with the standard quality range.

Designing of Water Quality Detector Using pH Sensor

2009

In this paper a novel technique has been developed to determine the water quality in order to identify whether the water is drinkable or not. This approach uses an electronic circuit consisting of pH sensor, comparator (741-8 pin IC), ADC (0808-28 pin IC), micro controller (A89s51-40 pin IC), and LCD (2 lines x 16 characters) for the purpose of output display. Micro controller based program has been generated and results are observed with the help of pH sensor for different water samples.

Real Time Water Quality Monitoring and Control System

International Journal for Research in Applied Science and Engineering Technology, 2017

Water quality monitoring is a method used to check the water parameters to indentify the trends of change, pollution levels and thus helps to decide and implement the pollution control systems. Water quality monitoring and control of swimming pools, ponds and other manmade water bodies are important to safeguard public health and is thus in the general interest of the environment and society. Conventional methods involve time consuming and laborious methods of sample collection, testing and data recording. This paper mainly focuses on the development of a system which comprise of online connectivity for collection of data from water body for monitoring and control. Programmable Logic Controller PLC is used to make the system automatic along with Arduino and Bluetooth module to collect data on mobile phone. Several sensors are used to measure water parameters for checking overall water balance. The prototype checks and tests alkalinity of water, Ph level , water temperature etc. Drinking water treatment could be the future scope of this project. Also the waste water treatment could be an application of this project.

Low Cost Sensor Network for Real Time Water Quality Measurement System

2016

Human body contains about 80% of water hence, every man need water as important factor to sustain life on earth. So, quality of such highly consumed water became an important issue. As improved water quality is favorable for health so every possible effort should be made in that direction. For identifying the quality of consumed water in house a sensor based system is explained in this paper. This system detects the water quality by measuring various physical and chemical parameters of water such as turbidity, pH, temperature, conductivity and TDS (total dissolved solid) on real time basis. IRJET, 2022

Water pollution has been an increasing problem over the decade. The conventional method of testing water quality is to assemble samples of water physically and send them to the lab to test and analyze. This paper proposes a Real Time Water Quality Monitoring & Management system; which will allow water quality monitoring at household levels as well as help in limiting the use of this natural resource. The objective of the proposed water quality monitoring system based on the technology of internet of things (IoT), is to observe the nature and quality of the tap water i.e., how the pH content & total dissolved solids (TDS) content varies and to provide a user-friendly interface with infographics and meters to illustrate the quality factors. For development of this system, the developers will be using an Uno R3 ATmega328p Arduino Development Board and sensors for finding pH value, TDS content & flow rate of the tap water and a GSM module for message technique.
