Brinjal (Solanum melongena L) is one of the widely cultivated and consumed vegetable in many countries including India, China, South East Asia, South East Europe and several American and African countries (Lovelock 1972; Harish et al., 2011). Brinjal or Egg plant or aubergine is native to India and grown in all three seasons in the country. It is widely accepted and valued for its high nutritive value like, rich in iron, phosphorous, calcium and vitamins A, B and C.
