Virtual World Exploration (original) (raw)
Studies in Computational Intelligence, 2009
Abstract
Automatic virtual world exploration techniques, allowing the user to understand complex unknown virtual worlds, will be presented in this chapter. Exploration is made by a virtual camera and is based on visual as well as scene covering criteria. The used techniques may be global, if the camera remains outside the explored virtual world, or local, if the camera moves inside the virtual world. Online and offline exploration methods are also presented.
