museo.bagnacavallo museocivicobagnacavallo Comune di Bagnacavallo The landscape unites the world… and other worlds. This is what art allows us to understand in the context of an idea that is becoming increasingly necessary and urgent for us all: the awareness that although we can view and observe different places through different eyes we need to have the single shared goal of protection, respect, acceptance and empathy… in a word the goal of life. The exhibition Landscape. Beaten paths and new perspectives, held at the Museo Civico delle Cappuccine from 17th December to 5th March, is part of a three-year program that the Municipality of Bagnacavallo has dedicated to the most diverse aspects of the landscape. Thanks to the work of the curator of the exhibition and director of the museum Davide Caroli, and all those who have contributed to this wonderful project, the interpretation of the landscape that we have proposed takes us on a journey that is something between a relaxing stroll and a dream: a journey suspended between the past and the future in the company of dozens of modern and contemporary artists of the first magnitude, many of whom are internationally famous. With their different styles, materials, techniques, schools and ideas, these masters are often distant from each other in time and in their conceptions: sometimes more closely linked to the specific genius loci and sometimes with their gaze directed elsewhere. Nevertheless they all lead us to reflect profoundly on the natural and urban landscape, its history and its possible evolution. It doesn't matter whether they are the proponents of Futurism, Abstractionism or Pop Art, what counts is that they have an inquiring, critical, personal and authentic gaze and ideas to match, so that they can transport us away from the here and now, and from the demands for "everything immediately" that the digital world often imposes on us. This gaze and these ideas are something that only art can give us, when it is detached from dogmas, predefined formulas, enclosures and boundaries. In this case, we feel that we can safely say that it provides us with landscapes of freedom. Our thanks therefore go to all those who have collaborated towards realizing the exhibition and to the professors Mario Angelo Neve and Stefano Bruzzese for their kind contributions to the exhibition catalogue.
