There is a growing need to adapt to the digital cultural world in different sectors of our technological society. The acquisition of inter and intra-linguistic knowledge and its interface with Digital Information and Communication Technologies (DICTs) reinforces the importance of research in Translation Studies. Machine Translation (MT) is a sub-area that includes translation and interpretation strategies. About this, Caseli (1783) points out that "although it emerged as a research area more than 70 years ago, MT still presents challenges, such as dealing with slang and colloquialisms [...]". Even so, the investigative nature of this subfield of knowledge and its relationship with human translation (HT) incites intrinsic approaches to translation practices. Integrating the heuristic scenario in MT and its collaborative interfaces, Translation Quality Assessment: From Principles to Practice, edited by Joss Moorkens, Sheila Castilho, Federico Gaspari and Stephen Doherty, brings important considerations on Translation Quality Assessment (TQA) to the Resenhas/Reviews

Book Review: Translation Quality Assessment: From Principles to Practice
Language Value
With the growth of digital content and the consequences of globalization, more content is published every day and it needs to be translated in order to make it accessible to people all over the world. This process is very simple and straightforward thanks to the implementation of Machine Translation (MT), which is the process of translating texts automatically with computer software in a few seconds. Nevertheless, the quality of texts has to be checked to make them comprehensible, since the quality from MT is still far from perfect. Translation Quality Assessment: From Principles to Practice, edited by Joss Moorkens, Sheila Castilho, Federico Gaspari and Stephen Doherty (2018), deals with the different ways (automatic and manual) these translations can be evaluated. The volume covers how the field has changed throughout the decades (from 1978 until 2018), the different methods it can be applied, and some considerations for future Translation Quality Assessment applications.

Translation Quality Assessment: A Discoursal Approach in Theory and Practice
H. Translation Project Publishing, 2014
The focus of this research-oriented book is the best possible interpretation of House’s (1977, 1981, 1997, 2009) translation quality assessment (TQA) model, among the latest approaches to translation evaluation. In this book, the significance of analyzing original and translated literary and other culture specific texts through House’s revisited TQA model as well as the quality of the translation versions are discussed. Then the considerable pertinent problems are proposed, and the notion of expertise in translation is discussed. Further, the model is applied to Orwell’s Animal Farm (1945) and its two Persian translations. Finally, some challenging excerpts are offered for discussion and analysis.
