The study was conducted in Madrasah Ibtidayah Negeri (a private Islamic primary sc quantitative inquiry method was used in this study by applying a quasi The data on mathematics learning process and students’ achievements were gathered using questionnaires. Then, the data was anal regression analysis. achievements between students who learn using contextual teaching and learning (CTL) and those who learn usin higher than students who had been exposed to conventional method.
The Effectiveness of Mathematic Learning Materials Based on Contextual Teaching and Learning
Journal of Physics: Conference Series
Learning material is a medium of learning source which stimulates students to learn something new. This study aimed at analyzing the effectiveness of mathematics learning materials based on Contextual Teaching and Learning. The research was a comparative study with pretest posttest only design. The research conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Gondang, Bojonegoro, East Java, Indonesia,The effectiveness of mathematic learning materials based on contextual teaching and learning was analyzed by comparing students' achievement of mathematic. Data collected by mathematic test before and after implementing the learning materials. Data analyzed by using paired t test. The result of the study showed the score mean of pretest was 63.54, and score of posttest was 75.89. Paired t test of statistical test showed the significance level 0,000 < 0.05. It means that Mathematic learning Material based contextual teaching learning was effective to increase students' achievement.

Learning activity in SMP Negeri 2 Jeruklegi, Cilacap Regency at mathematics still being dominated by teachers and make students passive in class. This condition has made students in trouble and influence the learning outcomes. The purpose of this study is to know differences in mathematics learning outcomes using scientific, contextual and conventional approaches, and compare what is better to student grade VII mathematics learning outcomes in SMP Negeri 2 Jeruklegi in Cilacap Regency in 2015/2016 academic year. The population in this study is student grade VII at SMP Negeri 2 Jeruklegi, Cilacap Regency of even semester in the 2015/2016 academic year, which is split into seven classes and total students are 222. Sample is taken three classes using a random sampling technique, VII C as experiment class of scientific approach, VII E as experiment class of contextual approach, and VIII D as experiment class of conventional approach. Data collected by documentation and test. This study using experimental with perfect random design. The instrument test includes a validity test, reliability test, and the difference test. Data analysis to condition test include normality test with formula Chi-Quadrate, Homogeneity test with Bartlett Test, and hypothesis test using variance analysis and average test after anava. Based on variance analysis with significance level α= 5%, df numerator v1= 2 and df denominator v2= 92 show that: there is difference between mathematics learning outcomes of students using scientific approach, contextual and conventional approach those are showed by Fcount= 6,303458 > Ftable= 3,09543 and based on RNK test, obtained that contextual approach is better than mathematics learning using scientific and conventional approach to students' mathematics learning outcomes.

Article history: The aim of this study is to analyze the role of contextual teaching and learning (CTL) approach on students’ mathematical problem solving ability (MPSA) and disposition (MD). The study is a pre-test post-test experimental control group design, that involved 40 tenth grade students of Madtasah Aliyah in Bandung, that were chosen by purposive sampling technique. The instruments used in this study consisted a mathematical problem solving test (4 essays) and a mathematical disposition scale (26 statements). The study found that on MPSA, its normalized gain and on MD students getting treatment with CTL attained better grades than grades of students taught by conventional teaching. Even though both students’ grades on MPSA were still at a very low level, but first group students’ grade on MD was at a medium level and the second group students’ grade was at a low level. Many students still experiencing difficulties on compiling MPSA. The other findings, there was no associ...

The reasoning and communication ability in learning mathematics junior high school still low. This indicated from the result of TIMMS and PISA. The aim of this research determine the improvement of student's reasoning and communication ability of mathematics SMP 7 Padang whose approach contextual teaching learning aided students worksheet based on the 21st century. This study is a preexperimental research. The study design used One Group Design and sample collection technique is purposive sampling. The research sample involving students of class VII in the school year 2017/2018 with class VII8 as an experimental class which have 30 persons. The ability of reasoning and communication mathematical is measured by test. The data were analyzed quantitatively by using independent sample ttest and normalization Gain Score. The results showed that the students average pretest score is 5.50 while the students average posttest score is 15.50. The results of gain scores obtained an average gain index of 0.54, means that there is an increase in student's mathematical reasoning and communication abilities after learning through of contextual teaching learning aided students worksheet based on the 21stcentury to the medium category.

This research aims to analyze differences in the improvement of students' mathematical problem-solving ability (MPSA) through contextual learning model and direct learning model. Type of research is a quasi-experimental study. The research population was all students of upper secondary school (USS) at Sidikalang which consisted of nine classes by taking classes IX-4 and IX-5 as the sample. In this research students is categorized to master MPSA if they do MPSA test, they understand the problem, choosing a problem solving strategy, executing the strategy, and concluding the solution in line with the initial problem. Problems are designed contextually. Based on the results of this study it was found that there were differences in the improvement of MPSA between students taught through contextual learning model and through direct learning model and the students MPSA are categorized good. MPSA N-Gain of the taught through contextual learning models is higher than students taught through direct learning models.

Based on preliminary observations made at Junior High School IT Iqra 'Solok City, students' mathematical problem solving abilities were still low. The low ability of students to solve problems was due to the lack of learning media (lesson plan and worksheet) that are able to facilitate these problem solving abilities. Based on that problem, the development of learning media (lesson plan and worksheet) using the Contextual Teaching Learning (CTL) was needed. The purpose of this study was to create a mathematical learning media based on Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) to improve the problem solving skills of students in grade VIII that were valid, practical and effective. The development research model used was the Plomp development model. This model consisted of three stages, namely the initial investigation stage, the development stage or prototyping and the assessment stage. This research was the initial investigative stage.
