Role of Pakistani media in disseminating core national issues and viewers perception

Today media have become most powerful element of every society and its major function is to play a role as watchdog. For this present study researchers selected a survey technique to collect data from male and female viewers of the society. To collect data from a sample of 300 by using Quota sampling technique. Unit of analysis of this study was different segments of society, i.e. Reporter, Anchors, Bureaucrates, Business Men, Teachers, Students, Analyst & Other Employees. The findings showed that that majority of respondents (59%) frequently watch private channels. It was also indicated that a large proportion of respondents are more satisfied with the role of print media a similar trend was observed across all selected population groups. Respondents are more satisfied from role of print media contents. The findings also showed that a major proportion of the respondents are somewhat satisfied with the coverage of educational issues. However, a great number of the respondents are much satisfied with the coverage given to Political leaders and political issues; similarly, the significant portion of the respondents is much satisfied with the coverage given to issues related to showbiz & sports.

Exposure of political talk shows of private television channels among students of Sargodha city, Pakistan

The present study is about viewer's exposure to private television channels political talk shows and their perception regarding political parties (A case of Sargodha City). Political talk shows Capital Talk (Geo News), Kal Tak (Express News) and Khari Baat (Dunya News) are selected for study. With the help of questionnaire data is collected from one city of Pakistan i.e. Sargodha. Using convenience sampling technique one hundred and fifty respondents are selected equally from city on the basis of gender. Overall finding shows that majority of viewers watch Geo News more frequently than Express and Dunya News and among political talk shows viewers watch Capital Talk more frequently than Kal Tak and Khari Baat. It is found that viewers take significant interest in political talk shows and majority of the viewers satisfied from the information provided by Capital Talk regarding political parties. In case of respondents participation in political activities majority of viewers motivated to participate in rallies than other political activities.

Effect of Private Television Channels' Current Affairs Program on Students: A Case of University of Sargodha

This study is about effects of Private viewers Effect of Television Private Channels' Current affairs program on Students: A Case of University of Sargodha. With the help of questionnaire data is collected from a education intuition, The reason to select the such education intuition because students have potential to seek out new thing and they can easily understand what they would perceive from the Pvt Channels and their programs. Three hundred and twenty respondents are equally selected on the basis of male and female and apply Purposive sampling technique. The result indicated that the viewers were thinks the currents affairs program have great effects to change their perception, the respondents significantly satisfied with information provided by the Current Affairs programs as compared to the supplementary programs.

Only in an encouraging climate will the media be able to play a positive role in democracy. They require the essential abilities of detailed reporting that a modern democracy requires. There should also be a structure in place to ensure that they are responsible to the public and uphold moral and professional standards. Media independence is ensured when media organizations are monetarily independent of media owners and the state and function in a competitive atmosphere. The media should also be accessible to as broad a cross-section of society as feasible. Efforts to assist the media should focus on strengthening press rights, increasing media liability, developing media capabilities, and democratizing media access. This theory suggests that media, and in particular television channels, develop the ideas of the people. People who spend more time on television, it tends to be their main source of information. Therefore, the population of present study consisted of all the female and male who study in universities. Four universities selected for the collection of data and the survey sample comprises a total of 120 respondents, 30 respondents taken from each university. The findings of paper indicate that most people rely on electronic media for political news. It influences people's perceptions and they are becoming politically aware by electronic media especially by the news channels.

Political Content and Television Channels in Pakistan: Investigating the Professional and Sensational Tendencies on Panama Issue

This study analyzes the content and Presentation of the Panama issue in Pakistan's two leading TV channels; Geo TV and ARY TV. Through the content analysis technique, it was found that both the channels professionally present the controversy on the Panama issue in terms of camera techniques, music, and other production skills. However, the content was very sensational on both channels. Separately, ARY TV was more sensational both in Presentation and Coverage of the Panama issue than the Geo TV, which was more professional.

So, the media should be very careful before giving any news to the public. Aim of the study to check the public perception about media. The research population consist mostly on the students, because we want to check the perception of public about media and our easily reachable public target is our university and we also target the employed people, self-own businessmen and household’s women. We used the approach simple random sampling. Our research that we conducted on the impact of media in response to our objectives mostly people are agree with our statements and encourage our topic and research.

Role of T.V Media Contents in Reshaping Perception of Educated Youth A Case Study of Gujrat Regarding T.V News and Current Affair

Today media is more corresponding, tricky and dependent on the dominant elites. This has become increasing concern considering the extreme media effects can have over the perceptions of its viewers. The electronic media (TV) of Pakistan and its one way information effects on educated youth of Gujrat. In current scenario TV media have been unsuccessful to provide the public interest. Therefore, survey sample size 100 took from Gujrat educated youth findings of paper represents that mostly educated youth rely on TV media information and discuses it with peer and family group. It also clearly the e d uc at e d youth of Gujrat still has doubts over the sources and reliability of information being provided to them. However, electronic media outlets provide the information that set the agenda of educated youth.

Content Analysis of Pre-Election 2013 Political Campaign on Pakistani TV Channels

This research categorizes treatment model of political parties in of agenda setting and framing perspective in major TV news channels in Pakistan before the elections of May 2013. The prime time (7-11pm) of these channels for one month was selected for supervising, examining and organizing determinations of coverage of general elections by news channels in under the code of conduct and procedure of coverage set by regulators. The researcher conducted content analysis of prime time which includes headlines of news bulletin, talk shows and issued addressed in program content broadcast on TV channels during that time frame. Results of the study showed that all news channels failed to fulfill the fundamental obsessions of impartial balance and reasonable reporting of political parties and their nominated candidates. In this study as the analysis showed the conduct of the elections, though having eminent place in the state news plan, it devastatingly explained the major political parties.
