An Obnoxious Lacuna on Discourses and Counter Discourses Over Artificial Intelligence (original) (raw)

34. An Obnoxious Lacuna on Discourses and Counter Discourses over Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence is the highest form of human development and sound outcome of human conscience till the date. But the very development seems to be devastating to human future ahead and has been heavily projected accordingly. More than it may be to decay and destroy the world, the negative and chilling views on the prospective damages of AI that scholars are percolating to public are costing many times on humans; and that is plunging human mindset into irreparable pessimism and negativity. This article explores the way that AI is being depressingly explored and investigated to browbeat public. In addition, this write-up highlights the serious lacuna, which the advanced academic engagement has still grossly failed to fill up, of a great deal in course of mainstreaming views and discussions for noble cause of human development and societal well-belling. Further, it unmasks the dire need in making constructive, encouraging and optimistic mind-set building academic pursuits and writings then makes an alarming call to the all prominent scholars to engage with due compliance of it. Method and Hypothesis As a doctrinal qualitative research based on extensive survey of secondary data and literature, methodologically, with adoption of paradigm of descriptive interpretation, this research hypothesizes that the discussions and discourses over AI are biased, hold a serious lacuna thus need to be reconstructed to make it balanced and build better world than to browbeat people.

Ethico-epistemological Implications of Artificial Intelligence for Humanity

The externalization of man's rational capacities to robots and computers, which renders machines a semblance of man through the process of programming and simulation, overcomes human frailities. This has since the last two centuries become the profoundest achievements of Cybernetics and Artificial Intelligence (AI). The celebrated efficiency of these techno-scientific products in out doing human persons in assignments previously reserved for man such as: translations, warfare and industry raises the level of unemployment and comes with an epistemological challenge of man's intelligence. Not only does artificial intelligence threaten epistemological enquiries as presently constituted, these machines are also incapable of any moral responsibility for their actions. Haven realized that Artificial Intelligence if left unchecked constitutes a threat to human dignity and personhood and could even terminate the very humanity it seeks to assist, myriad philosophers now raise questions such as: Are intelligent agents capable of 'man-type' self reflective consciousness and rationality? Can AI. truly enjoy the same status with man? Can moral responsibility be ascribed to them? How should humanity treat and at its safeguard, these new automated members of our community? These humanistic concerns inform our present research, which primarily highlights the moral and epistemological implications of AI. on humanity. We argued for a redirection of AI. research and suggested a humanization of Artificial Intelligence that cloaks techno-scientific innovations with humanistic life jackets for man's preservation. The textual analysis method is adopted for this research.

SCARY DARK SIDE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE: A PERILOUS CONTRIVANCE TO MANKIND

Artificial intelligence and its impacts on the society

Artificial intelligence (AI) is considered as a new concept. It is associated with the concept that intelligence is supposed to be manifested by the computer systems. It was the sole property of humans previously. Without human help, the AI can take decision and can solve complex problems in different sectors of the society. It has brought in a vital societal change in the perspective of revelation of human intelligence. There was an implicit assumption that humans possess hierarchical superiority in exhibiting intelligence in comparison to other forms of life. This fundamental assumption has been questioned owing to the anticipated entry of such entities which, in the familiar thinking, are not alive but nonetheless is considered superior to humans intellectually and perhaps ultimately morally. The entry of this cutting age technology (AI) has caused some impacts in the society deriving huge advantages as well as throwing some entangled challenges those are apprehended to pose threat even to the human rights bringing in a thorough societal change in different ramifications.

The discourse of ethical principles of interaction with artificial intelligence as a condition for sustainable development of society

II INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC FORUM ON COMPUTER AND ENERGY SCIENCES (WFCES-II 2021)

Sustainable development of society presupposes successful human interaction with AI: this is necessary both in terms of improving the efficiency of human use of AI, and protecting people from potential threats from AI. First approach treats AI as somewhat devoid of some human abilities (emotions, virtues, responsibilities, etc.), while the second treats AI as something that is characterized by other human qualities (desire for domination, vengeance, supremacy, etc.). In the first case, researchers seek to expand the human qualities of AI, give it the ability to be creative, to have human experience and emotions, etc.-in order to make AI more adequate in interaction with humans. In the second case, other researchers, on the contrary, try to limit AI's possible impact on humans, and therefore they often exhort not to "humanize technology", but to treat it only as other soulless things. Both approaches seek to involve AI in addressing ethical issues that need to be addressed by the individual. The analysis of copyright problems shows that the involvement of AI is possible only on ethical principles developed by people themselves, but interaction with AI can improve the human modeling of ethical situations and helps people to think and to act more ethically. Such variability contributes to increasing the effect of sustainable development of society.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN HUMAN LIFE: A MYTH OR MIRROR? A PRAGMATIC APPROACH

IAEME PUBLICATION, 2020

In today’s modern world, the talk of the town is AI otherwise known as Artificial Intelligence. What is artificial intelligence? In simply speaking, it is a human invention, to replace the human being from performing particular tasks either in personal, private or in a public entity without consuming much time in their business or personal life. Therefore, all the entities are ventured into inventing or developing artificial intelligence from one stage to another stage. Attempts and discussions are also going on to replace the human being from performing particular activities. In this scenario, in this article, the authors intend to argue as to whether artificial intelligence is an attempt to replace the human being from the public or private sector in toto? What are the implications of artificial intelligence in various stages of human life in the present and future? What is the legality of AI in India or the globe? Are the AI conflicts with Indian Laws? With a number of questions in mind, the authors make an attempt to discuss the height of AI in human history.

Artificial Intelligence and Threat to Humanity

International Journal for Research in Applied Science & Engineering Technology (IJRASET), 2021

AI is growing in popular technology with various uses can be seen in many aspects of life. AI has many positive effects and creates social benefits. AI applications can improve health and living conditions, facilitate justice, create wealth, enhance public safety, and reduce the impact of human activities on the environment and climate (Montreal Declaration 2018). AI is a tool that can help people do their jobs faster and better, creating many benefits. But, beyond that, AI can also facilitate new tasks, for example by analyzing research data on an unprecedented scale, thus creating an expectation of scientific knowledge. can be beneficial in all aspects of life. In this paper we are describing negative effects of AI.

Towards ethical aspects on artificial intelligence

Proceedings of the 8th WSEAS international …, 2009

This paper presents the role of ethics in developing artificial intelligence, and how the artificial intelligence could change our perspective, because artificial intelligence in fact is all around us. Artificial intelligence is an important part of our life, but we are sure that the possibility of acquiring the domination of AI over the humanity is only a myth. During the time, the progress helps society but also brings a number of ethical problems. In the academic society, like in real life, the process of using different kind of power are complex, and even if it is about the robots, the computer or other artificial intelligence tools, the ethical problems are not only theoretical but also practical, it is not only a concept, but it is also a practical support for our life.

Artificial Intelligence's Effects on Human Society and Ethical

Artificial intelligence (AI) is a multifaceted tool that allows individuals to reevaluate how we combine knowledge, analyze data, and apply the ensuing insights to improve decision-making. Already, it is revolutionizing all spheres of human endeavor. The industrial revolution (IR) 4.0, sometimes referred to as artificial intelligence (AI), will alter not just how we carry out our daily activities and interact with others, but also how we perceive ourselves. This article will first define AI, then analyze how it has affected the industrial, social, and economic developments that have affected humanity in the twenty-first century, before proposing a set of ethical guidelines for AI. The IR1.0, or the IR of the 18th century, significantly altered society without directly affecting interpersonal interactions. However, contemporary AI has a significant impact on our daily activities as well as how we interact with one another. In order to meet this problem, new AI bioethics concepts must be taken into consideration and established. One issue with AI is that its "intelligence" and objectives have not yet been clearly defined, which causes confusion when comparing AI to other disciplines. In this article, we dispel popular myths and misconceptions about machine learning and statistics in connection to the desired and existing status of AI. We hope that by removing the fog of obscurity surrounding AI, we can see its true face.

Ethical Aspects of the Impact of AI: the Status of Humans in the Era of Artificial Intelligence

Society, 2021

On the one hand, AI is a functional tool for emancipating people from routine work tasks, thus expanding the possibilities of their self-realization and the utilization of individual interests and aspirations through more meaningful spending of time. On the other hand, there are undisputable risks associated with excessive machine autonomy and limited human control, based on the insufficient ability to monitor the performance of these systems and to prevent errors or damage (Floridi et al. Minds & Machines 28, 689-707, 2018). In connection with the use of ethical principles in the research and development of artificial intelligence, the question of the social control of science and technology opens out into an analysis of the opportunities and risks that technological progress can mean for security, democracy, environmental sustainability, social ties and community life, value systems, etc. For this reason, it is necessary to identify and analyse the aspects of artificial intelligence that could have the most significant impact on society. The present text is focused on the application of artificial intelligence in the context of the market and service sector, and the related process of exclusion of people from the development, production and distribution of goods and services. Should the application of artificial intelligence be subject to value frameworks, or can the application of AI be sufficiently regulated by the market on its own?
