The purpose of the present research was to compare psychological hardiness and coping strategies in female athlete and non-athlete students in Zahedan, Iran.The research is causal-comparative and the sample consists of 90 female athlete students and 90 female non-athlete students (19-30 years of age) who were selected using convenience sampling. Bartone's Psychological Hardiness Scale and Billings and Moos Coping Measures were used for data collection. The findings revealed that the psychological hardiness of athletes was significantly higher than that of the non-athletes (p< 0.05).Moreover, a significant difference was observed between the two groups in the components of psychological hardiness (p< 0.05). Regarding coping strategies, although the mean scores of the athlete group in the subscales of coping strategies (cognitive, behavioral, avoidance-focused, problem-focused, and emotion-focused) were higher than the scores of the non-athletes, the difference was not statistically significant (p> 0.05).

This study aimed at identifying the level of the psychological hardiness among the volleyball and swimming players in Jordan. It also aimed at identifying the effect of the (type of game) variable on the psychological hardiness among the players. The researchers applied the descriptive method in its survey form, as the sample consisted of all the male and female players of the first division volleyball clubs (n=126), and male and female swimming players (n=18) who are enrolled in the 2022/2023 sports season. The researchers constructed a questionnaire to measure psychological hardiness, which consisted of three domains (Challenge, commitment, and control), and was distributed over 15 items. The data processing was carried out using the means, standard deviations, analysis of variance and Cronbach Alfa. The results showed that the psychological hardiness level among the volleyball and swimming players was high, and that there were no statistically significant differences of the hardiness level among the volleyball and swimming players ascribed to the (type of game) variable. In the light of the results, the researchers recommended to affirm the significance of the psychological hardiness among the volleyball and swimming players, and to hold courses and workshops to introduce the significance of the psychological hardiness among the players.
PSYCHOLOGICAL RESILIENCE IN STUDENT ATHLETES AND COMPETITIVE UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

This research aims to analyze the relationship between sports age and psychological resilience level in gender, biological age, sports age, branch, and gender of studentathletes and competitive university students. "Personal Information Form" was used to determine the various demographic characteristics of the participants, and the "Short Resilience Scale" was used to determine the levels of resilience. According to the study's findings, there is a significant difference between psychological resilience and the sports age of male athletes in terms of sports age and gender. There is no significant difference between psychological resilience and sports age of female athletes in terms of biological age, branch, and gender. According to the research results, sports age is more effective than biological age on psychological resilience. As the duration of doing sports increases in males, psychological resilience develops, but the same is not valid for females. In addition, male students are more psychologically resilient than female students, and those who do individual sports are psychologically more resilient than those who do team sports. According to the results of the research, it can be concluded that psychological endurance level may differ depending on various circumstances.

This study attempted to compare the resilience and stress coping strategies among the elite team and individual athletes, and non-athletes. The statistical population consisted of the premier league champions in iran for volley-ball, handball, basketball, archery, badminton, karate and non-athlete students at islamic azad university, karaj branch. The sample consisted of 180 subjects, including 60 athletes in individual sports, 60 athletes in team sports and 60 subjects in the non-athlete group, selected randomly in this research. The instrument used for data collec-tion included connor-davidson's resilience scale (2003) and yu stress coping strategies questionnaire (2000). The statistical data were analyzed through both descriptive and inferential statistics in spss. In this study, the descrip-tive statistical involved several indicators such as mean, standard deviation, tables and graphs for describing the data. As for the inferential statistical, the shapiro-wilk and levine tests were applied to determine the normality of the data. Moreover, the one-way anova was used to compare the mean values at significance level of p=0.05. This study showed that there is no significant difference between mean scores of resilience and stress coping strate-gies through intuition, emotion, problem, avoidance among athletes of individual and team sports and non-athletes. Furthermore, the athlete group was better than the non-athlete group in terms of resilience and coping strategies, which was not significant.

For collegiate field athletes, the inability to manage and cope with stressful situations and injuries may affect sport-specific development, impede optimal performance, lead to unnecessary injuries, and delay the rehabilitation process. Unfortunately, this essential component to competitive success is often not emphasized during training. Due to limited research in this unique area of sport, this study was conducted to quantify athletic and pain coping skills of NCAA Division I field athletes. Following written informed consent, 151 collegiate field athletes (46 males, 105 females; mean age 20.1 ± 1.5 yrs) completed the Athletic Coping Skills Inventory (ACSI; Smith et al., 1995), and the Sports Inventory for Pain (SIP; Meyers et al., 1992a). Data were grouped for analyses by skill level, gender, event, and injury history. MANOVAs (Wilks' λ) indicated significant main effects across skill level (p <.004) and gender (p <.021), not by event (p <.495) or injury history (p <.207). Univariate analyses indicated that top ranked qualifiers responded significantly higher (p <.02 to p <.001) in confidence, direct coping, and total coping response, and lower in catastrophizing than non-qualifiers. Males responded significantly higher (p <.02 to p <.001) across most athletic coping skills, and lower in catastrophizing than females, with females exhibiting below normative responses across 75% of subscales. This unique view of athletic and pain coping skills of field athletes also reflected suboptimal responses not reported in the literature. It is recommended that coaches incorporate time within JSB 2022, 45(3) 62 their programs to conduct coping skills training involving sport psychologists familiar with field events.
EXAMINING THE INDONESIA AND MALAYSIA STUDENTATHLETES COPING STRATEGY IN SPORTS
The purpose of this paper is to compare the coping strategies among university student-athletes between Indonesia and Malaysia. A sample of 469 students athletes of Indonesia (226: female-69; male-157) and Malaysia (243: female-95; male-148) were randomly selected as the sample for this study. The age for Indonesia student-athletes (M=21.05, sd=2.31) and Malaysia student athletes (M=21.41, sd=2.50). The samples were selected from four major universities in Indonesia and Malaysia. Of the sample, 2.6% of Indonesian and 2.3% of Malaysian representing National team and 4.3% of Indonesian and 5.8% of Malaysian student-athletes representing state level during their study. However, 3.8% and 13.9% of Indonesian sample representing National and state during their high school year, respectively, 8.5% and 21.7% of the Malaysian sample representing National and state team during their high school year. The instrument used in this study was The Athletic Coping Skills Inventory (ACSI-28). Results show that there are significantly difference between Indonesia and Malaysia athletes in coping in adversity, concentration, mental preparation and goal setting, peaking under pressure and freedom from worries. Out of that, the Indonesian student-athletes score higher than Malaysian student-athletes in subthemes of freedom from worries. While, the others the Malaysia student-athletes score higher. Results were further discussed and recommended for future research.
The purpose of present research was to the psychometrics properties and normalization of Persian version of resiliency questionnaire among athletes and non-athletes students. The statistical population includes all of the public secondary school students in all the nineteen regions of Tehran education and training offices (48268 persons) and all tertiary students in public universities of Tehran city in the the academic year of 2011-2012 (50477 persons). Data collection medium applied is resiliency standard questions made by Connor and Davidson. It is the aim of this study is to test the validity and reliability of the Turkish version of Athletic Coping Skills Inventory-28 (ACSI-28) developed by Smith et al. (28). Back-translation technique was employed during the process of Turkish translation of ACSI-28. The scale is 28 items instrument which have seven subscales, namely coping with adversity, concentration, coachability, confidence and achievement motivation, goal setting/mental preparation, peaking under pressure, and freedom from worry. Respondents of the ACSI-28 indicate the extent to which they agree with each statement on a four-point Likert scale, ranging from 0 ( Almost never ) to 3 ( Almost always ). Items number 9 and 12 have been removed from the scale, which are not meaningful t value according to the analyze. With the remaining 26 items, the analyzes were repeated.
