This research is motivated by the low student learning outcomes in social studies learning in the third class of MIS Handapherang Buy and Sell. In addition, students' lack of interest in social studies learning is due to teacher-centered learning not to students. So that social studies are considered saturated and boring lessons. In an effort to improve student learning outcomes, researchers used the Learning Strategy to Increase Thinking Ability (SPPKB). Pendidikan adalah suatu langkah kita dalam mendapatkan suatu pengetahuan yang belum kiita ketahui, dan pendidikan adalah suatu cara kita menjalan kehidupan dengan baik.penelitian ini betujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar pada siswa IPS dengan menggunakan Strategi SPPKB yaitu kemampuan berpikir, dan penelitin ini menggunakan proses PTK atau penelitian Tindakan Kelas. Peneliti meneliti 25 orang siswa kelas VI SDN 09 Sungai Cubadak denga fokus penelitian yaitu pengkatan hasil belajar IPS siswa. Dan hasil penelitian menunjukkan pengungkatan hasil belajar pada siswa kelas VI berhasil dengan hasil dari 25 siswa yang ada pada pembelajaran siklus pertama peneliti menemukan 74,92 % siswa memahami materi dan pada siklus ke II siswa mengalami peningkatan hasil belajar hingga 82,04 %, dari 25 siswa hanya 14 orang yang bisa memahami materi pada penelitian siklus I dan peningkatan yang terlihat pada siswa pada Siklus II dari 25 orang 19 orang siswa sudah paham dengan materi yang di sajikan. ...

Learning process and student learning outcomes have a close relationship. A good learning process improves student learning outcomes. Improvement of student learning outcomes is determined by how the learning process is done by teachers. Talking about the learning process is the same as talking about learning and teaching methods. There are many methods of teaching and learning. The teachers and students live to have the method which is in accordance with the conditions of each class. This research tries one of interactive teaching and learning method, that is group discussion. With group discussions the students are invited to discuss lesson themes in social science subjects. To measure the increase of student learning outcomes with this group discussion method then conducted Pre Test about the students' knowledge before the learning process. After the group discussion intervention the teacher performed a Post Test. The result can be said that the teaching and learning methods with group discussion effectively to improve student learning outcomes.

This research is motivated by the problem of the learning methods of group discussion in the purpose of this study is to find out how to increase participation and learning outcomes in learning Integrated Social Sciences discussion methods in class VIII.3 in SMP 19 Padang. The results of data analysis show that learning group discussion models can increase student activity. Students have the courage to ask questions, communicate, answer questions from teachers, friends or other groups and dare to defend their opinions when discussing. Increased participation and Integrated Social Studies learning outcomes can be seen from the acquisition of student scores before being given action, which is an average of 74, to 78 in cycle I. Achievement of material completeness before the action was 8 students (26.67%), increasing to 12 students (40%) in cycle I. In the second cycle the average value increased to 83.77 and students who had achieved completeness 23 students (76.67%) at the end of the cycle test the average score of students became 87.1 students who had achieved completeness 26 students (86.67 %). From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the learning method of Group Discussion is able to increase student participation in class VIII. 3 at SMP N 19 Padang, because learning using the Group Discussion method can create an active, innovative, creative and enjoyable learning atmosphere.

The objective of this research is to determine the improvement of learning outcomes in Social Sciences (IPS) by using the Cooperative Learning Model Type Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) for fifth grade students in SD Inpres Borong Jambu II Makassar City. This research is a descriptive study designed through class action research (class room action research). This classroom action research was conducted in two cycles, each cycle carried out 4 meetings.
