How green is your supply chain: An analytic hierarchy process-based approach (original) (raw)
Abstract
Purpose: The main purpose of this paper is to develop a conceptual analytical framework to measure environmental performance of supply chains. Design / methods: This paper’s theoretical underpins are based upon three major areas: supply chain management, environmental management and performance measurement using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). Using the literature review this paper first identifies the environmental constructs for supply chain management. Then conceptually develops a holistic green supply performance measurement framework. The proposed framework is then applied to three companies in three countries - the UK, India and Thailand in order to demonstrate its effectiveness. Findings: Our findings show the potential contribution of the proposed green supply chain performance measurement framework. The proposed framework helps the concerned stakeholders brainstorm for identifying criteria and sub-criteria that affect green supply chain performance, organizing them hi...
