Analysis of Methods of Printing Images on Textile Materials and Evaluation of Their Quality

2021

The peculiarities of the methods of printing images on textile materials are analyzed; the research of the criteria for choosing the method of printing is performed. The list of criteria is supplemented and presented in a form convenient for use in the analysis and selection of the method of printing images on textile materials in each case. The method of calculating the cost of a batch of products for each of the methods of printing the image is given. The results obtained, according to this method, make it possible to make an economic assessment of each of the printing methods and decide on the appropriateness of their use. In the course of experimental research the degrees of resistance of the images put by various methods of printing to friction and in the process of washing were established. The application of the results of this study will allow a qualitative and effective assessment of methods of printing images on textile materials depending on the production conditions for ...

Exploration of Innovative Techniques in Printed Textile Design

2015

This work explores innovative techniquesin printed textile design as means of introducing creativity and providing new and varied ways of decorating textile materials. The trend in fashion is dynamic and as such, people’s preferences for fabrics keep revolving. This therefore gives an urgent call for the need to explore various methods of printing, since these are the possible ways to respond to the fabric needs of these new trends in textiles design. Art studio-based research design was used under which exploration and experimental methods were adopted in the execution of these works. Some innovative techniques applied includespray printing, local sponge and broomsticks printing, twigs block printing, marble printing, bottle (Acripuff/Acrilex) printing, brush printing, lace transfer and fabric painting, A number of ground-breaking printing techniques were achieved byblending and varying existing techniques as well as exploring with different kinds of materials and tools. These include brushes, flowers, leaves, grasses, sponges, lace fabrics, bottles, squeegees and screens. The new techniques were employed to print sample fabricsout ofwhich some were sewn into garments. The study revealed that if existing textile-printing techniques are creatively blended or varied, they could give interesting results in printed textile designs that could provide unique handcrafted printed fabrics to consumers and take over this niche market. This research work shows the need for further inquiry into exploring more techniques for textile printing especially among textile students and small-scale textile designers.

Innovative Textile Printing Technology

Publisher Name Springer, Singapore, 2023

In order to achieve a specific color appearance on the cloth in accordance with the design, colorants are applied to a specific or general area during the process of textile printing. The styles, approaches, and operational procedures of this antiquated technology have evolved over time. The scope, processing methods, necessary tools and machinery, benefits, and other elements of the cutting-edge, ground-breaking, and emerging sustainable eco-friendly printing technologies adopted by the global textile producer are going to be covered in this chapter. This chapter is also going to address technological advancements, many facets of screen printing and transfer printing, digital inkjet textile printing (continuous, thermal, and Piezo), cool transfer printing, and 3D printing processes.

AN INVESTIGATION INTO DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY AS A MEANS FOR MASS PRODUCTION OF PRINTED FABRICS

IJCIRAS, 2021

This study investigated the digital technology as a means for mass production of printed fabrics. In an effort to achieve this, A-15 items questionnaire titled Digital Technology in Printing (r = 0.73) was administered on a sample of 150 professional in cottage and printing industries in Ogun State. The analysis of the data was subjected Chi-Square at α = 0.05 level of significance. The findings revealed that most of the fabric professionals have significant requisite knowledge of digital technology in printing, digital technology has influence on the printing processes and digital technology has usefulness in mass production of printed fabrics.

The Development of Methodologies for Color Printing in Digital Inkjet Textile Printing and the Application of Color Knowledge in theWays of MakingProject

Journal of textile design, research and practice, 2020

Digital textile printing (DTP) offers creative potential and entrepreneurial business models in textile design. Designers are no longer restricted to a number of colors or pattern repeat. It has become possible to print fabric without large setup costs. This relatively sustainable technology reduces water-usage and dye-wastage. DTP meets Just in Time, Concept to Consumer demand, reducing stock wastage. However, there is a marked difference between screen-color to print-color and software allows a user to select colors unprintable using CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) colorants. Color results are further affected by factors such as structure and composition of the fabric, dye type, printer

Annals of the University of Oradea Fascicle of Textiles, Leatherwork Eco Design in Design Process

Eco-design is a new domain, required by the new trends and existing concerns worldwide, generated by the necessity of adopting new design principles. New design principles require the designer to provide a friendly relationship between concept created, environment and consume. This "friendly" relationship should be valid both at present and in the future, generating new opportunities for product, product components or materials from which it was made. Awareness, by the designer, the importance of this new trend, permits the establishment of concepts that have as their objective the protection of present values and ensuring the legacy of future generations. Ecodesig, by its principles, is involved in the design process, from early stage, the stage of product design. Priority objective of the designers will consist in reducing the negative effects on the environment through the entire life cycle and after it is taken out of use. The main aspects of the eco-design will consid...

Adaptation of Indian Folk Paintings for Designing and Digital Printing of Apparels Using Computer Aided Designing

International journal of applied research, 2015

India had always been known as the land that portrayed cultural and traditional vibrancy through its conventional arts and crafts. Every region in India has its own style and folk art which are very ethnic and simple, and yet colorful and vibrant enough to speak volumes about the rich heritage. Folk art in India apparently has a great potential in the international market because of its traditional aesthetic sensibility and authenticity. The two most famous folk painting are Warli art of Maharashtra and Madhubani art of Mithila. Traditionally these paintings were done by hand which is time consuming and laborious process, but with technological advancement, these designs can be created directly with the help of CAD and applied on textiles through Digital Printing. It is now possible with CAD and digital printing to go straight from an initial idea to visual representation of fabric showing these designs in combination of colors within minutes. The present study was an attempt to dev...
