Teaching planning is one of the many competencies that a teacher must develop in order to provide quality teaching. At the University of Deusto it is verified through two documents: the program and the learning guide. The preparation of these two instruments requires, not only face-to-face courses, but also up-to-date and easily accessible supporting materials. A "subject for teachers" has been designed, implemented and validated as part of an innovation project and thanks to the use of ICTs that accompanies these face-to-face courses on the institutional platform. The use of the platform itself is not the innovation, but the way in which the Didactic Unit has been designed: following the learning cycle established at the University, and using active methodologies, varied resources and a process of formative evaluation and feedback. This way, not only are teachers trained in contents, but they are also provided with a Unit that serves as an example of what they are asked to do in their own subjects. The results in terms of the follow-up of the phases, the fulfilment of the goals and the impact indicators have been very satisfactory.
