Die invloed van verdamping op die segregasieproses

Suid-Afrikaanse Tydskrif vir Natuurwetenskap en Tegnologie, 2013

Measuring the effect of surface evaporation on the segregation process. Metallurgical products play an important role in everyday life. One process, by means of which metallurgical properties can be determined, is known as segregation. The influence of surface evaporation should be considered in order to improve segregation studies. Modifications made to an Auger system in order to measure surface evaporation that takes place during segregation are discussed.

Eros en seksuele natuur

Koers, 1993

The aim o f this article is to expose a dichotomy between the inter-and intrapersonal aspects o f sexuality that haunt the current discourse on sexual normality. This division has led to a dual movement: in one direction to a moral relativism and in the other to an exclusive focus on sexual instincts. Thus, in the current discourse on sexuality, the interper sonal dimension o f sexuality is underplayed, while the intrapersonal dimension is overemphasized. I argue instead fo r a bridging o f the gap between the inter-and intrapersonal dimensions o f sexuality. The reason: neither moral relativism nor a rigid deterministic structure fo r sexual instincts represents an adequate view of, on the one hand the description o f sexuality, and on the other the prescription o f the expression o f that sexuality. In conclusion, I point to a few consequenses o f the integration o f both dimensions fo r sexual normality.

This paper recommends an approach to the implementation of semantic representation languages (SRLs) which exploits a parallelism between SRLs and programming languages (PLs). The design requirements of SRLs for natural language are similar to those of PLs in their goals. First, in both cases we seek modules in which both the surface representation (print form) and the underlying data structures are important. This requirement highlights the need for general tools allowing the printing and reading of ...
