Translation used in Learning and Teaching Method for Elementary School Students in Indonesia
The pluralism existing in Indonesia contributes to use of translation strategies during learning and teaching process. In Majalengka, for instance, as one of regions separating two local languages in West Java where the study is conducted teachers tend to use both Indonesian and Sundanese or Javanese depending on the districts from where their students come. The examination results in the conclusions that loanword, paraphrasing, literal translation, functional equivalent, descriptive equivalent, and reducing of some elements are the most used translation method in learning and teaching process. As this study focuses on elementary school in Majalengka, the students are respectively involved as the respondents. After the six-month period inquiry in sub district of Majalengkaby recording the learning and teaching process in elementary schools in Majalengka, it could clearly concluded that translation is the most effective method to help students from region where pluralism exists to understand the foreign terms without using the dictionary.
THE TEACHING OF TRANSLATION IN INDONESIAN CONTEXT (A New Alternative in Language Teaching
The teaching of translation is generally overlooked not only in Indonesia but also in other countries. This is largely due to the fact that most of the language scholars still strongly believe in the primary use of language as a means of communication, thus the process of language learning by way of practical communication is a must thing to do. In fact, translation provides not only an exposure to a new language to communicate but also the chance for understanding its equivalence within the native language perspective. Thus, besides enriching his creativity and cognitive skill, translation skill can also accommodate both local and foreign cultural perspective as well as enable the learners to have a much more balanced appreciation toward both languages. Especially with the growing concern of language death, bilingualism, language and cultural imperialism the merely ethnocentric paradigm enforcing a merely single language perspective of the foreign language to be learned is not a wise paradigm to adopt. Despite being in need for further research, the use of translation if well applied, might not only improve both L1 and L2 mastery but also improve their capacity in several important aspects, e.g. maintaining the learners' confidence toward their identity, improving their cultural diversity awareness, as well as survivability by being more competitive in the increasingly dynamic world.

THE METHODOLOGY OF APPLYING TRANSLATION THEORY IN TEACHING
This study tends to give a general statement of the methodology of applying translation theory in teaching and of the necessity and importance of translation teaching. The translational process is a long way to be first comprehend and second to be acted, so we must be certain of: The kind of theoretical knowledge to be taught; The kind of theoretical knowledge to be applied; The techniques to be used for a better translation; To find out if he or she has gained a translator competence. From a methodological angle, is also introduced a case study model for translation teaching based on theories – techniques - practice, which involve some common mistakes in students’ versions and some defects in teachers’ teaching methodologies and of course some essential characteristics that any good translator should have. To apply translation theories in teaching is as difficult as teaching the whole language (grammar, spoken and written language), but if a student knows well the grammar of the language and has good knowledge he may not be immediately a good translator but can try to be by practicing it.
