Problems of Online Learning according to Students during the Covid-19 Pandemic

This study aims at describing the types of problems experienced by students while participating in online learning, online learning media that students prefer, and evaluation of the implementation of online learning according to students at the Indonesian Muslim University during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study uses a survey method. The research sample is the students of the Faculty of Letters. The data collection technique used in this study is Google form questionnaire and analyzed by using quantitative descriptive statistics. The results show that the types of problems experienced by students while participating in online learning are generally caused by two factors, namely internal factors: unable to focus on attending lectures, problem on internet network, lack of cost to buy internet quota, and external factors: class schedules change frequently, the use of less effective learning media, redundant assignments. The pandemic of Coronavirus has influenced all levels of education in the whole world. This impact forces the Ministry of Education to switch from traditional education to online education. As a result, educators must run this policy to teach the classroom and students must adapt to this situation. This research aimed to find out students’ perception of online learning during the Coronavirus pandemic. This research employed the qualitative design and used the survey method to distribute the questionnaires. The object of this research was twenty-seven students of the English Department, University of Muhammadiyah Aceh. The COVID-19 pandemic has impinged on the people irrespective of their nationality, age, income or gender. It has hit almost all the sectors of the economy including education. In response to lockdown norms issued by the government, Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and universities had to close their premises and switch to online mode of teaching. The pandemic of COVID-19 has forced the Indonesian government through its Ministry of Education and Culture to implement policies moving conventional classroom to online classroom. The current study is a collective case study consisting of analysis of survey on students' perceptions of their online learning during the pandemic. Sixty-six students of English Language Education Study Program at Pamane Talino College of Education (STKIP Pamane Talino) were involved. Their perception s of their online classroom that were recorded through a survey. The recorded perceptions are in terms of students' participation, accessibility, material and assignment delivery, and the use of e-learning platforms. The results were then summarized into tables and narrative descriptions. The study identified three major obstacles in conducting online learning in English Language Education Study Program at STKIP Pamane Talino: the first is availability and sustainability of internet connection, the second is accessibility of the teaching media, and the last is the compatibility of tools to access the media. The result of the current study suggests that accessibility is still the major factor influencing the success of online learning. Online learning for English Language Education Study Program at STKIP Pamane Talino, and potentially Indonesia in general, requires some more friendly platforms so that students' participation can be increased. This is especially for students who reside in rural areas with limited internet connections and other support systems.

AbstractThis research focused on students’ perception toward challenges and needed materials. The researcher used a descriptive qualitative research as design method because it was comparable to collect the data from students’ perception and gave interview to collect the data. The data was collected from the secondary school students of MA Mambaus Sholihin Suci Manyar Gresik which have been learned using online learning. The sample had been 10 students chosen through purposive sampling which snowball sampling approach. The students selected to be a representative sample of the population have met the criteria specified by researcher. Online Learning: Student Psychological Challenges During A Pandemic Covid-19

Full online learning sessions has been actively applied in teaching and learning as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. Various SOPs have been outlined; including social distancing in which face-to-face encounters are avoided. As such, face-to-face learning in the classroom now has shifted towards full online teaching and learning. While full online learning is the best alternative at the moment, there are various constraints and challenges that need to be faced. This study aims to examine the psychological aspects of students in pursuing online learning. The respondents of the study involved semester 1, 3, 5, and 7 students who enrolled in the Bachelor's Degree in Arabic language Studies at Sultan Zainal Abidin University (UniSZA). The students had been following full online learning for a total of 1 semester or about 14 weeks. They were instructed to answer a distributed questionnaire. In addition, the students also left comments related to the challenges faced during the online learning session. The findings of the study showed that the overall psychological aspects of students were at a moderate level when following the fully online learning sessions, while other challenges faced by students include internet access problems, unconducive environment, workload from lecturers, and lack of cooperation from teammates. As such, these findings can be used as a guide by stakeholders in order to fully improve the online learning system.

With the emergence of COVID 19 pandemic, rise in the online learning has been increased worldwide. The mode of learning has been changed to online. Schools were shut for a longer period of time because of physical distancing to ensure limited contact with people during COVID 19. So it has become very important to start the classes for the students in order to minimize the delay in the course. The present study was conducted to find out the problems faced by the school and college students due to online learning during COVID 19 pandemic. The study was carried out on sample size of 120 students. Descriptive research design was used for conducting the study. The information was collected and gathered through Google forms. Analysis was done on the basis of the collected data. Findings of the study revealed that most of the respondents were facing technical issues and majority of them were also suffering from various health related problems due to prolong sitting. In order to deal with all the problems, some suggestions and coping strategies were suggested to them for their health and well-being.

Online learning has been chosen to be applied in all tertiary institutions in Indonesia; this also applies to IAIN Takengon. Student perception is one of the determinants of the success of the learning that is carried out. The purpose of writing this article is to find out how students' perceptions of online learning have been implemented and the factors that influence these perceptions. The research method used is an online survey using google form. The results showed that students' perceptions of online learning were not very good; this was caused by several factors, such as poor internet access, burdensome internet quota, difficulty communicating with lecturers, so students were not ready to use applications when online learning was carried out. There needs to be much improvement in the online learning system implemented; this indicates that universities are not ready to carry out online lectures.
Challenges Faced by Students in Online Classes during Covid-19
The lockdown has compelled many educational institutions to cancel their classes, examinations etc. and to choose the online modes. In this regard, E-learning tools have played decisive role during this pandemic, helping educational institute to facilitate students learning. The use of suitable and relevant pedagogy for online education may depend on the expertise and exposure to information technology for both educators and the students. The present study assesses the challenges faced by students and its impact on their studies due to online classes during Covid-19. A total of 140 respondents were participated in survey that was pursuing their graduation. The research instrument used for survey was Google form and link was created and sends to the students by WhatsApp mode. The results reveal that the low connectivity issue was the one of the hurdle students were facing. Results also indicate that online learning has reduced the quality of education.
