Correlation between Students’s Ability to Memorize the Qur’an and Students’ Learning Achievement at Islamic Boarding Schools in Indonesia

This study aims to investigate the correlation between students' ability to memorize the Qur'an and students' learning achievement in the subject of al-Quran and hadiths. To achieve the objective, the study utilized quantitative method under the frame of correlational design involving seventy eleventh grade students who took al-Qur'an hadiths subject. To collect the data, the study utilized questionnaires. The obtain data were then analyzed by using correlation analysis technique through SPPS 20.0 software. The results showed that the ability to memorize the Qur'an has a significant correlation with the students' learning achievement in the subject of al-Qur'an hadith. It is evidenced in the results of analysis that the two variables were correlated around 52.3% with a determination coefficient of 0.523 and a significance level (ρ) of 0.000. The students who have the ability to memorize the Qur'an have strong memories, good attention to details and brilliant thoughts because the students may have a lot of practice in matching the verses in the Qur'an with their memorization or recitation,. Therefore, it is expected that by increasing their ability in memorizing the Qur'an, the students can improve their learning achievement in the subject of al-Qur'an hadith since it uses Arabic as the Qur'an does.

The Student’s Ability to Read the Qur’an at Islamic Education Program Universitas Negeri Padang (A Need Assessment Study)

The research aims to describe the student's ability to reading Al-Qur'an at the department of Islamic Education at Social Sciences Faculty, Universitas Negeri Padang. This research uses a quantitative method, where data were collected by test to 130 students of 2017. Then, data were analyzed by statistical analysis using SPSS 22. Respondents read the specified verses of the Al-Qur'an. The reading of these verses is checked based on the rules in reading Al Qur'an, especially makharijul hurf, the law of nun and tanwin, the law of mim, mad wal qasar, and waqaf wa ibtida. Each error subtracts 2 points from 100. The results of the study: As many as 37.7% or around 49 people out of 130 are very poor. 20.8% were categorized as very good, 16.2% were categorized as not good, 13.8% were classified as adequate and 11.5% were classified as good. It indicates that half of the students' abilities are still not good in reading the Qur'an following tajwid rules. The result of the research will be useful for the department of Islamic Science to design their laboratory program in helping students increase their ability in reading Qur'an well.

Pengaruh Khatam Al-Qur’An Dan Bimbingan Guru Terhadap Kemampuan Membaca Al-Qur’An DI MTS Nurul Ihsan Cibinong Bogor

This study aims to analyze the influence of teacher guidance and the Qur'anic khatam on the ability to read the Qur'an at MTS Nurul Ihsan Cibinong. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative research method. The result was that the majority (60.3%) of MTS students Nurul Ihsan Cibinong, Bogor, met the Al-Qur'an's Khatam target with very good criteria. The rest, including both (18.0%) and moderate (9.8%). There is a moderate correlation between Khatam Al-Qur'an and Ability to Read the Qur'an at MTs Nurul Ihsan Bogor. This is evidenced by the correlation number or R2 of 0.575. That is, the variables of khatam and guidance can explain the ability to read the Qur'an by 57.5%. The rest is explained by other variables not examined. The Influence of Arabic Learning on the Students' Motivation in Memorizing the Qur'An at Pondok Pesantren Imam Asy-Syathiby Kabupaten Gowa

This study aims to analyze the influence of Arabic language learning on the motivation to memorize the Qur'an students of the Imam Asy-Syathiby Islamic Boarding School, Gowa Regency. This type of research is field research, Ex-post facto, located at the Imam Asy-Syathiby Islamic Boarding School, Gowa Regency. The approach used in this study is the positivism approach. The population in this study covered high school students at the Imam Asy-Syathiby Islamic Boarding School, Gowa Regency, which amounted to 90 students, the sample in this study was 73. Learning is a process, way, and action of human for learning. Learning combines about human, facilities, devices, and procedure mutual to influence human purpose to learn. Memorize the Holy Quran is someone who memorize the Holy Quran or understand The Holy Quran by heart. This research is carried in Nurul Huda Boarding School Mergosono Malang. In this Boarding School the students are educated to understand the classical Islamic scripture. This research is focused on memorizing Holy Quran program because memorize Holy Quran program in Nurul Huda Boarding School has a target in which the student can finalize their memorize in 3 years. This research case study is to know how about learning memorizes of the Holy Quran in Nurul Huda Boarding School Mergosono Malang. Moreover, it is to know the difficulties and obstacles memorizing the Holy Quran and to know whether the students can finish their memorization in 3 years or not. This research is a Qualitative research method. The data resources are primer and seconder data. The accumulation data combines with observation, interview, documentation, and inquiry. Improving Student Achievement in the Subjects of Islamic Religious Education

The purpose of this study was (1) to know a difference between student learning outcomes of low and high sub groups with learning to use the media worksheets in the subjects of Islamic Religious Education (Pendidikan Agama Islam); and (2) to know the obstacles in the implementation of learning by using the worksheets on the subject. The subjects study were three Open Junior High Schools, Bandung, namely Open Junior High School 8 Bandung, Open Junior High School 27 Bandung, and Open Junior High School 36 Bandung. The hypothesis tested the increase in student achievement in the subjects of Islamic Religious Education after a learning process using worksheets. This study was a quasi-experimental study. The design used in this study is a pre-test post-test one group design. The results show that learning outcomes after the use of worksheets has no significant difference. Then the t-test Test Final Problem Description pretest and posttest seen that the value of significance (sig.2-tailed) with the t-test is 0.007. Since the significance value less than 0.05 then the decision-making criteria, H0 rejected. This shows that learning outcomes after the use of worksheets has significant difference. Using the analysis, the results showed that the use of worksheets in the learning process could improve the learning outcomes of students in the subjects of Islamic Religious Education in junior high school in Bandung.

The Correlation of Al-Qur'an Memorization and Arabic Learning Achievement

Memorizing Al-Qur'an is an attempt to stick in the memory and heart of the verses that have been memorized. So that, in an effort to memorize requires high concentration can survive well. The goal of this study was to ascertain the connection between learning Arabic and successfully memorizing Al-Qur’an in class X SMA IT Fitrah Insani Kemiling. Correlation quantitative approach was used as research design. The populations in this study were 53 tenth grade students in SMA IT Fitrah Insani Kemiling. Furthermore, the data were analyzed using the product moment correlation from person by first conducting prerequisite tests, namely normality and homogeneity tests. The Portrait of the Students’ Ability to Read and Write Al-Quran at UIN Ar-Raniry Aceh

In the national education system, the ability to read and write the Qur'an has become a competency that students in Islamic universities must be fulfilled. Based on the results of LPMQ research conducted by the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia's Research and Development Agency and Training in 2019 on the Al-Qur'an Reading and Writing (BTQ) Ability Index at 11 State Islamic Universities (PTIN) in Indonesia, UIN Ar-Raniry Aceh came in the last second from the bottom. This paper seeks to explain why UIN Ar-Raniry Aceh students have low ability in reading and writing the Qur'an. This article uses case study method. Questionnaires, interviews, Quranic reading and writing tests, and documentation were used to collect data. The findings of the data analysis reveal that both internal and external variables contributed to the poor BTQ ability of UIN Ar-Raniry Aceh students. Internal factors focus on students' poor motivation to learn the Qur'an, which is exacerbated by external factors, such as a familial setting that discourages the development of habits to engage with the Qur'an in everyday life.

The Relationship between Pedagogical Content Knowledge and al-Quran Tajweed Performance among Students KKQ in Malaysia

This study aims to identify the relationship between teachers (PCK) and the student achievement of al-Quran tajweed in Special Class on Reading and Memorizing Al-Quran Skill (KKQ) at Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur. The study was implemented by involving a group of respondent which consist of 134 students in (KKQ). The data of the respondents was collected by using a survey as an instruments which verified by a panel of experts. The level of alpha Cronbach reliability for overall division of the survey was high (>0.7). The quantitative data for survey was analyzed in an inferential manner by using Statistical Package For Social Science (SPSS) v20 to get the relationship between the variable involved. The results of the study shows, there was a lower significant relationship between the teachers PCK and the student achievement of tajweed al-Quran in KKQ. Therefore, the KKQ teachers must know this knowledge because it is one of the factors that will determine the effective learning besides it will affect the students' achievement in tajweed al-Quran subject in KKQ.
