Las formas locales de confrontación y articulación social frente a la crisis azucarera. La Comisión Pro Defensa del ingenio Bella Vista (Tucumán, 1965-1970) (original) (raw)

Abstract
In the mid-1960s, the confluence between the crisis of overproduction of sugar with a national policy of decapitalization, intervention and closure of sugar cane mills caused a debacle in the agroindustry of Tucuman. Within this framework, “Comisiones Pro Defensa” of sugar cane mills were formed in 14 locations of the province. These entities, scarcely analyzed by historiography, embodied a singular form of confrontation and social articulation. The article analyzes the trajectory of the CPD of Bella Vista, a local perspective that seeks to reconstruct the dynamics of protest that preceded the massive mobilizations of students and workers in the city of San Miguel de Tucuman in 1969-1970.
