The present study aimed to investigate how Italian and Turkish university students perceive cyber bullying. A total of 256 Italian (161 females, 95 males) and 122 Turkish (76 females, 44 males, 2 did not report gender) university students were recruited by convenience sampling. The ages of the participants ranged between 18 and 33 for both the Italian sample (M = 20.9; SD = 1.92) and the Turkish sample (M = 22.77; SD = 2.47). Data were collected via a questionnaire which included two vignettes depicting different cyber bullying episodes (one web-site and one mobile phone episode) and follow-up questions. Results indicated that cyber bullying appears to be widespread among both samples. Although the respondents from the two countries share similar perceptions of cyber bullying, discrepancies exist in how Turkish and Italian university students perceive what a cyber bullying incidence is, and who is called the cyber bully and the cyber victim. Researchers and practitioners need to be aware of the unique needs of university students from different countries while planning prevention programs for cyber bullying. Examination of Cyberbullying Experiences among Turkish Students from Different School Types
2008
The purpose of this study was to examine the nature of cyberbullying experiences among public and private school students in Turkey. One hundred eighty-three participants between the ages of 14 and 15 were recruited for the study. Participants were asked to respond to questionnaires measuring demographic information, usage frequency of Internet-mediated communication tools (IMCT), and cyberbullying experience (as a victim and as a bully). Participants who reported cyberbullying victimization were also asked how they felt and whether they sought help after such experiences. Results indicated that public school students were more likely than private school students to report being cyberbullies and cybervictims despite that private school students were more likely than public school students to report more frequent usage of IMCT. The findings of the logistic regression analyses indicated that usage frequency of IMCT was a significant predictor of cyberbullying/victimization for public school students but not for private school students. While victims from private school revealed that they did not mind the cyberbullying experience because they thought it was a joke, victims from public school reported that they felt angry when they experienced cyberbullying. Both public and private schools indicated that friends were their first choice for help.

EXAMINATION OF CYBER BULLYING STATUS OF UNIVERSITY STUDENTS
EUROASIA SUMMIT (Congress on Scientific Researches and Recent Trends-8th), 2021
The developments in mobile technologies and the spread of 4G and 5G internet infrastructures increase internet usage day by day. Especially in early 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which affected the whole world, the transfer of face-to-face activities to the online environment has accelerated the widespread use of the internet. Despite the risk of COVID-19, face-to-face education has started to be done online on e-learning platforms. Thus, almost all of the students, from preschool level to higher education level, started to spend more time on the internet. This situation has also increased the possibility of students encountering negative behaviors and threats in the internet environment. In this study, the cyber bullying status of university students was investigated and it was examined whether there was a relationship between students' cyber bullying levels and various variables such as gender, age and family income. As a result of the research, it was determined that the students' level of cyber bullying in general was low. In addition, it was concluded that the cyber bullying status of the students did not differ statistically according to gender, family income, internet and social media usage. In future studies, the situation of being a cyber-bully or cyber victim of university students from different regions can be investigated according to their faculties and departments.
Cyberbullying among Turkish Adolescents
CyberPsychology & …, 2008
Cyberbullying, harassment through the use of information and communication technology such as cell phones and the Internet, is an emerging phenomenon all around the world. Extensive research on aggression and bullying is guiding educators' understanding of cyberbullying. Yet the gap between the advancement in technology and the dearth of study on cyberbullying suggests that more research is needed to understand the scope of this form of bullying. In order to fill the gap in literature, 269 secondary school Turkish students were surveyed on their engagement in and coping strategies for cyberbullying. The results show that 35.7% of the students displayed bully behaviors, and 23.8% of the students displayed bully-victim behaviors. Only 5.9% of the students were victims. More boys displayed bully, victim, and bully-victim behaviors than girls. When faced with cyberbullying, 25% of the students reported telling their peers and parents about the cyberbullying incident, and 30.6% of the students reported finding active solutions such as blocking the harasser. The implication of the study for future research is discussed. 253
Forms of Cyber-bullying from the Aspect of Cyber-victims – Elementary and Secondary School Pupils
The New Educational Review, 2018
The Internet and cyber-space create a platform where a new form has emerged, i.e., bullying, so far occurring mainly within school premises. The study presents results of empirical research conducted at selected elementary and secondary schools in Slovakia in 2017. The aim of the study was to elucidate the most frequent current cyber-bullying platforms and occurrence of individual forms of cyber-bullying with regard to cyber-victims. The research sample consisted of 1004 respondents, aged 10-20 (AM 14.9). Empirical data were collected using the method of questioning in the form of a written questionnaire. We focused on cyber-bullies, electronic platforms and identification of cyber-bullying forms from the point of view of cyber-victims and pupils' gender and age. It was found out that 24.50% of pupils reported to have been cyber-victimized, girls more often than boys. The most frequent form of cyber-bullying from the point of view of cyber-victims was abusive or offensive language on the Internet and spreading rumours on the Internet.

Student's experiences with traditional bullying and cyberbullying : findings from a Romanian sample
School of Cultural Professional Learning Faculty of Education, 2013
The field of cyberbullying is relatively new and there is no universal consensus on its definition, measurement and intervention. Authors agree that bullying has entered into the digital domain and professionals require the skills to help identify and prevent these behaviours. Ninety two students were surveyed to determine their experience with different types of bullying behaviors (face-to-face, cyberbullying or both), as bully, victim or witness. Our objective was to explore the association between those types of bullying and anxiety . The results suggest a significant association between face-to-face bullying and anxiety. Similarly, there was significant association between experiencing both types of bullying and anxiety. Further studies are required with larger and more diverse samples in order to verify current fidings and to test for additional associations.
