This study aims to find out the effectiveness of technology based online teaching paradigm. The recent unprecedented outbreak of coronavirus did really narrate the harsh realities of life that human beings should adapt to. One among them was the need to adapt to techno-savvy accomplishments. With the outbreak of this epidemic, there has been significant surge in the usage of all digital platforms like language apps, virtual tutorials, video conferencing tools and online learning software’s. All schools are shut and nearly 1.2 billion children are forced to adapt to this harsh reality of online digital platform. Some believe that this online platform would develop a new hybrid model of education with some significant technological benefits, while some others pose the challenges involved in going digitalized. However the students are the ultimate victims who are going to face the consequences of online teaching pedagogy, be it favorable or unfavorable. Thus this study aims to find out the acceptance and effectiveness of online teaching from the part of students. The reflections and viewpoints of students are analyzed to find out the level of confidence and acceptance with regard to large scale online teaching. The test results prove that an established and completed system of IT infrastructure and internet connectivity for all students could pave a way for continuous online learning in the coming years.

A Critical Review by Teachers on the Online Teaching-Learning during the COVID-19

International Journal of Education and Management Engineering, 2020

The world has witnessed a sudden change in the teaching-learning processes due to the ongoing pandemic of COVID-19. The worldwide compulsive lockdown for ensuring the preventive measures to stop the spread of this infection has equally affected education sector as other business sectors. As all of us know that quality education is the only long-term rescue for all the challenges and therefore, the need to find out the alternative solution to the traditional classroom teachinglearning is the concern of all stakeholders and the only option found is online mode of teaching-learning, which was somehow already available and had attracted an intense attention during this period. The aim of the paper is to study the teacher's perspective in India about this mode of learning, challenges and issues faced by them in migration to online platform, experience about online tools/platforms used for instructional delivery and their suggestions to improve the process for effective teaching. This study will help in gaining insight towards the possible improvements in the ongoing mode of online teaching and in future situations also. The results obtained based on sample collection through web based questionnaire clearly gives some information, which could be an eye opener for enhancing the implementation of the online teachinglearning among the learners especially teachers, who can further help in implementation of the large. Although, the online mode was already in place and was utilized in blended form to a substantial level in the developed countries, but in developing countries like India, where teachers are not familiar with online platforms/tools, lack of knowledge and skills to handle the online ICT infrastructure in a challenging situation. The results also give an impression about the need of professional development with special focus on digital literacy skills and awareness among the teacher community about the merits of online platforms for the teaching-learning process.

Factors Implementation on Online Teaching And Learning During Coronavirus Disease (Covid-19) Pandemic In Higher Education Of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan

The COVID-19 epidemic exposed Pakistan's higher education system's incapacity to react to widespread unpredicted disruption throughout the world, requiring curriculum transformation to e-learning, which is a problem for whole education participants. This research has the aim of exploring the critical experiments encountered by contemporary online learning systems, as well as the key factors that enable the use of online teaching and learning platforms in Pakistan during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the challenges faced by universities in determining their readiness. By examining the COVID-19 crisis, it was observed that the quality of service had a minimal effect on the satisfaction of learners, although both the quality of information and selfefficacy were found to have a considerable influence on satisfaction.A recent research conducted by universities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa explored the online teaching experience of 25 university educators post the launch of online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. A variety of methodologies, such as systematic structural analysis, collaborative research articles, general statements of knowledge, observation, and surveys, were used to collect responses from the participants. Upon analysis of the responses, the primary challenges faced by both university educators and learners included identifying the computer literacy, determining the electronic environment of the institution, providing support, preparing educational staff and preparing learners for online learning. The majority of respondents agreed that an educator's methodological work is an electronic educational setting different from traditional teaching approaches. The psychological, technical, methodological, and educator programmers are critical to reducing the adverse effects of rapid education modification and implementing effective online learning.

THE IMPACTS OF THE DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES ON THE ONLINE DISTANCE TEACHING AND LEARNING OF THE UNIVERSITY STUDENTS DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

(EDULEARN2021) 13th International Conference on Education and New Learning Technologies, 2021

During the COVID-19 Pandemic, most universities have changed their teaching and learning methodologies by using different digital technologies from Google Classroom, Blackboard, Canvas, and Zoom to Google Drive, YouTube, WhatsApp, and Notability. Even though the intensive use of the different digital technologies for teaching and learning has been widely advocated for minimum two decades, the COVID-19 pandemic has exponentially increased the needs in the world in which all the stakeholders from schools, students, and families to public and political institutions, particularly the universities have become deeply interested in using properly. To analyse and understand critically how the impacts of the digital technologies on the teaching and learning of the university students during the COVID-19 pandemic, the qualitative research had been strategically designed and developed. The main target of this qualitative research is to understand deeply how the effects of the most used digital technologies on the teaching and learning of the university students during the COVID-19 pandemic period when the university students have taken their courses mainly online or blended, face to face and online. As a field study, three different university students have been taken into account. The participants (25) who had actively participated in the semistructured focus groups through Zoom meetings had answered 21 questions. The collected data were analysed by using NVivo. The data have showed the most used digital technologies-from Google Classroom, Blackboard, Canvas, and Zoom to Google Drive, YouTube WhatsApp, and Notability-affect positively minimum 88% of the university students on the teaching and learning even in the most difficult subjects including those of the applied ones. Since they are the most well known facilitators for learning activities involving high technologies for both face to face and distance learning ecosystems in the higher education institutions, it creates also a long term model by developing and systematizing a roadmap for future teaching, learning, collaborating, networking, assessing, and researching at the university level. As the 94% of the participants has clarified that the students' learning outcomes are much better by using these different digital technologies. Under these new circumstances, most of the participants (98%) point out how they have faced with the difficulties, reliabilities, and stresses while they are taking exams; hence, universities need new successful methodologies to conduct reliable and valid assessments, which affect their success in their Grade Point Average (GPA). Additionally, as the participants (96%) mention that the university professors, lecturers, and teaching assistants need to implement digital teaching methodologies and digital pedagogy by having better digital, technological, infrastructural, institutional, and organizational learning ecosystems that promote and boost teaching, learning, collaborating, networking, and researching. In conclusion, the analyses show a well-rounded model to redevelop methodologies, to offer a roadmap, and to lead successful outcomes for the future of the teaching and learning by using effectively and efficiently the digital technologies in the higher education institutions, which will create the future technologies and innovation.
