Attitudes of High School Students From Bosnıa and Herzegovina Towards Practice and Cultural Interest in the Process of Learnıng Turkish as a Foreign Language

The aim of this study is to analyze the attitudes of Bosnian students towards Turkish culture and language practice during the Turkish language learning process. The research examines the students' interest in Turkish, the difficulties they encounter during the language learning process, and the strategies they use to overcome these difficulties. In particular, the students' views on practicing speaking Turkish and their interest in Turkish culture are emphasized. How Bosnian students evaluate opportunities to practice while learning Turkish and to what extent they are motivated for this process. The research was conducted using a qualitative method and student opinions were collected and analyzed. Data were collected through closed-ended questions directed to the students and evaluated using the content analysis method. It was revealed that the majority of the students were interested in Turkish and Turkish culture, but some students were hesitant to practice speaking due to reasons such as the complexity of the language or lack of selfconfidence. However, it was determined that practicing plays a critical role in language learning and is seen as an important opportunity for students to develop their language skills. It was emphasized that personal motivation and cultural interest are important elements in the language learning process.

Educational Experience of Turkish Students Studying in Balkan Countries

The aim of this research is to examine the educational experiences of Turkish students studying in Balkan countries. This study has a science design, a qualitative research approach, and uses the semistructured interview technique. The study group consists of 15 students studying in Balkan countries during the fall 2019 semester and was determined using the criterion sampling method, a purposeful sampling method. The data obtained as a result of the interviews has been coded in accordance with qualitative research methods, collected under themes, and subjected to content analysis. With respect to the research findings, Turkish students have similar as well as different opinions about their experiences in Balkan countries. The students have expressed the reasons for their dissatisfaction as: the low quality of education with respect to European standards and inadequate learning, used resources, the exam system, and internship applications. The students expressed satisfaction with their views on the low cost of education, the calm of the city, and their higher education being provided within the scope of economic and cultural values. In this context, examining the student mobility policies of the Balkan countries is recommended, as well as changing and innovating in certain areas by evaluating the dissatisfaction of students studying there who are from different countries.

Turkish Teachers' Perceptions on Turkish and Turkish Culture Courses

The number of Turkish and Turkish Culture teachers in the Federal Republic of Germany in 2013-2014 academic year amounts to 1047. Some of these teachers are assigned by the local authorities in Germany, and some are composed of teachers selected by the Ministry of National Education among the ones working in Turkey. There are 510 teachers assigned by the Turkish Ministry of Education to give Turkish and Turkish Culture lessons in Germany. Both the teachers sent from Turkey and the ones assigned by local German authorities must cope with a number of problems. In this study, the results of 398 questionnaires, which consisted of three main open-ended questions and were sent to 510 teachers working in Germany, who formed the sample group for the study, were evaluated. According to the study, the observed problems are mainly about parents' and students' indifference to classes, the inadequacy of physical infrastructure in schools, school principals' unwillingness to cooperate with the Turkish teachers and insufficiency of teaching materials.

THE PERCEPTION Of TURKISH- ORIGIN STUDENTS LEARNING TURKISH TOWARDS THE CONCEPT OF HOMELAND

Türkiye Türkçesi öğrenen Türk soylu öğrencilerin vatan kavramına ilişkin algılarını ortaya koymayı amaçlayan bu araştırmanın örneklemini İstanbul’daki bir dil merkezinde A1, A2, B1, B2 ve C1 olmak üzere beş farklı seviyede Türkçe öğrenen Türk soylu 80 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Tarama modelinin benimsendiği araştırmada hikâyeci Mustafa Kutlu’nun Vatan Yahut İnternet kitabındaki ilk deneme yazısında geçen vatan tanımları bir anket formuna dönüştürülmüş ve 2019 yılı bahar döneminde araştırma grubundaki öğrencilere uygulanmıştır. Ayrıca öğrencilerin demografik bilgileri de kişisel bilgi formu ile toplanmış ve formlardan elde edilen bilgiler SPSS programı ile analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmanın sonuçlarına göre, Türk soylu öğrencilerin 55 tanımın %14,85’inde orta algı, %13,75’inde düşük algı ve %1,65’inde yüksek algı seviyesine sahip olduğu görülmüştür. Buradan hareketle Türk soyluların vatan tanımına yönelik algıları genel olarak orta düzeydedir.

Bosniaks in Turkey in the contexs of history and tradition

With withdrawal of Ottoman Empire from the Balkans Muslims who lived in Balkans had started to come to Anatolia. Amog these Muslims who came to Anatolia there were Bosniaks too. The Bosniaks who settled in Anatolia were trying to adapt to the new society and at the same time they were trying to keep their old traditions too. Traditions about birth, wedding and funeral have of course been changed a bit. Some traditions that Bosniaks in Turkey practice differs from the traditions which Bosniaks who live in other countries practice but some traditions are still the same.

The aim of this study; to examine the students' views on Turkish, Turkey and Turkish culture and to determine their expectations from Turkish lessons. The students learn Turkish as a foreign language at The Slovakia Matej Bel University. In accordance with this purpose, a scanning model of the qualitative research method has been used. Data of the study were acquired through interview forms. The study was carried out with 66 out of 153 A1 and A2 level students who are taking Turkish lessons in the 2020-2021 academic year fall semester at Matej Bel University in Slovakia. The data obtained from the interview form were analyzed by descriptive analysis method. According to the findings obtained in the research; it appears that students' general perspectives on Turkish and Turkish culture are positive, they also know Turkey from tv series, movies, cousine and achievements in sports as well as its historic and natural beauties. The students' curiosity about Turkey and Turkish culture was found to be the main source of motivation. It is inferred that student who stated that they chose Turkish lessons as they were offered the opportunity to take courses directly from the native speaker prelector, expect exercises for daily speaking needs in Turkish lessons most, the most difficult skill area they have is speaking and they think Turkish is a difficult and complex language because of the difficulties they have with pronunciation.
