Macalester College: Fall, 2014. Introductory course in Theatre and Dance department for majors and non-majors, with a department expectation that the class will be one of the primary courses that will teach play texts. Second half of semester focuses on the development of a new play - written individually by students, but developed in collaboration with peers.

University of La Verne THAR 202 Performance Art and Experimental Theatre
Performance Art is an elective course that explores alternatives to the traditional modes of performance, and explores the theory and practice of creating relevant works of performance art. This course will provide an introduction to performance art history and theory, contemporary modes of performance art, and the process of developing short performances for public presentation, including the creation of designed interactions of theatre, studio art, music, sculpture, movement, dance, and/or multi-media as site-specific events. Themes concerning liminality, performativity, participation, and embodiment are discussed throughout the course.

This course is an introduction to the insights of cultural anthropology for intercultural ministry. It includes theories of culture and societies, religion and worldview, kinship and family structure, communication theory and the dynamics of change. Participants are encouraged to explore models useful in ministering to specific societies and cultures.
