Investigation of the CO2 absorption in pure water and MDEA aqueous solution including amine functionalized multi-wall carbon nano tubes (original) (raw)
The objective of this study is investigating CO 2 absorption in Amine functionalized Multiwall Carbon Nanotube (NH 2 _MWCNT) in pure water and Methyldiethanolamine (MDEA). A dispersant was used to disperse nanofluid solutions. Results showed that at the optimum concentration of NH 2 _MWCNT in pure water (0.005 wt %), the absorption capacity incresed up to 26.4% at the highest pressure. Additionally, the effect of nanoparticles on aqueous solution of MDEA showed that NH 2 _MWCNT is more efficient at 10 wt% of MDEA and absorption capacity was increased by up to 21% at the highest pressure. It can be concluded that NH 2 _MWCNTs lead to many advantages such as higher absorption capacity and lower heat of reaction.
