Banyuwangi Regency has a new innovation called " Lahir Procot Pulang Bawa Akta " which in this innovation is realized in the form of an Online Deed Website. Every information technology has an interface that can be a link between the user and the technology itself. Interface formation is influenced by needs, and information technology has different interface designs according to the needs of its users. The User Interface has the aim of making it easier for users to operate information technology that can make users feel comfortable using the application or technology. Heuristic Evaluation is one of the Usability evaluation methods that can be used to determine the extent to which a system is used by users to achieve certain goals with effectiveness, efficiency and satisfaction. This research is a research that is focused on the use of Heuristic Evaluation based on user interface design aspects of application usability through observation, interviews and questionnaires to users.
Implementasi Usability Pada Sistem Informasi Akademik Menggunakan Metode Usability Heuristics

The election of the Governor of Central Java in 2018 result was Ganjar Pranowo and Taj Yasin as the winners. Messages in political campaigns are important elements that can determine the candidate's victory or failure in political contestation. The messages in the campaign are specifically designed based on the character of the specific target voters and should not be generalized to all groups of voters. As one of the national food barns, it was interesting to figure out how specific messages related to food security are perceived by voters. The research method used was a mixed method with in-depth interviews with voters with agricultural background and survey to young voters who are considered by researchers to have the greatest opportunity to be exposed by a variety of specific issues in the campaign because of their high media consumption. The results of the study show that specific issue like food security was only a concern for voters who have strong relevance to the issue. However, it was not the only basis for consideration in choosing candidates for related voters.

In this modern era, the needs of internet and digital technology implementation constantly increases. In Indonesia itself, based on survey conducted by APJII (Asosiasi Penyedia Jasa Internet Indonesia) in 2017, the internet penetration has reach 54,7% of total population. This result in high intensity of internet and digital technology usage in daily activities, especially smartphones, which also trigger a very competitive smartphones application development market. This is where developers should really consider one of the most vital aspect in application development, which is its usability, the extent a product can be used to achieve specified goals with effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction in a specified context of use (ISO 9241:11, 1998). This study tried to combine usability aspect in designing an application with a quite similar concept from Japan called Kansei Engineering and Kawaii Design. Both of these concepts will be combined to develop a tool that able to measure ...

Usability evaluation of online transportation using Nielsen model
World Journal of Advanced Engineering Technology and Sciences
Maxim is one of the online transportation services in Indonesia. Based on the feedback provided by users on the App Store and Google Play store, there are still shortcomings, such as the application often having errors when used, GPS accuracy is not precise, and the system feeling difficult when canceling orders. Based on these problems, usability testing is needed. The method used in this research is usability testing based on the standard Nielsen Model conducted by five respondents. In this study, the Usability System Scale questionnaire was also filled in to get the satisfaction value carried out by 100 respondents using Maxim. The usability test results show that the respondents complained that the payment methods were not varied and there was no customer service chat. This usability test gives results on each indicator: the learnability value of 92%, the efficiency value of 0.42 goals/sec, the error value of 0.1, and the satisfaction value of 57.2.
Heuristic Evaluation: Usability Evaluation Materials
Heuristic Evaluation (Nielsen and Molich, 1990; Nielsen, 1994) is a method of usability evaluation where an analyst finds usability problems by checking the user interface against a set of supplied heuristics or principles. A set of evaluation materials for the heuristics described in (Nielsen, 1994) are presented, in particular: • A structured description of Heuristic Evaluation to ease learning and use; • A self assessed test to allow analysts to assess their understanding of Heuristic Evaluation; • A checklist of heuristics for use in the analysis; • Problem record sheets to record usability problems during analysis. Currently, these only record the usability problem predicted. In future, these could be modified to include recommended solutions to these problems (Jeffries, 1994); • A questionnaire to fill in after the analysis

The purpose of this study was to develop and cross-culturally validate the Korean version of SMArtphone's uSability Heuristics (K-SMASH). In the study, it was used the adaptation process consisted of five stages, namely, translation, synthesis, back translation, expert committee review, and pretesting. In the pretesting stage, a mobile application, using the prefinal K-SMASH, was evaluated for the severity of usability problems by three experts in computer science and informatics. Each participant completed the evaluation and was interviewed about their understanding, interpretation, and opinion of the cultural relevance of the prefinal K-SMASH. Next, we reviewed the differences in the experts' opinions and the questionnaire results. Twelve SMASH items, words and sentences, were translated, back translated, and revised, considering the conceptual meaning in the context of the Korean culture, by experts in various fields, including a Korean linguist and a bilingual translator...
Heuristic Evaluation and Usability Testing: Case Study
The goal of this user centered design (UCD) study was to to identify usability issues on the Boğaziçi University Industrial Engineering (BUIE) department website user interface (UI) and also to provide a re-design guideline for the website. In this context, the website was evalauted via using heuristic evaluation, remote usability testing, and post-test questionnaire methods. Every single screen of the BUIE website was evaluated, and design problems along with associated severity rankings were determined. Based on the heuristic evaluation findings, various task scenarios were created for the remote usability testing study. Four diffferent user groups were identified for the study: high school students, BUIE undergraduate students, BUIE Graduate students/academic staff, and other university students. The users were asked to perform tasks relavant to the group characteristics and expectations related to the website. Their performance were evaluated in terms of task completion success rate, number of clicks, and time spent till either accomplishment, failure, or quittance by a remote usability testing tool, Loop11. A post user testing questionnaire was also administered online where the user subjective rating data were collected for each task in terms of ease of use. The results indicated numerous UI design issues, as confirmed by both heuristic and usability testing methods. Further redesign study is required to implement the results of this sudy in order to enhance the ease of use of the BUIE department website.
Proposal of an Automated Tool for Conducting Usability Inspections based on Nielsen Heuristics
2021
One of the most important aspects that contribute to the competitiveness of applications in the market is usability. Usability can be used in the software development process, both in the design phase and in the evaluation phase, where one of the most widespread methods to evaluate the usability of a software product are usability inspections. In order to specify the results obtained in a usability inspection and to determine the quantitative and qualitative level of compliance with the usability heuristics, it is necessary to specify the criteria associated with the different heuristics to be considered in an inspection. In this paper we propose as a contribution both the definition of a set of evaluation criteria associated with the Nielsen heuristics, and the development of a tool to automate the process of conducting usability inspections based on the defined criteria. The criteria and the proposed tool are intended to serve as a reference for conducting inspections on applicati...
