Social media is a popular tool of communication to use as a sharing content platform. Many people use it as their media, but little do we know that the government nowadays use it as a tool to engage their public, especially at crisis and disaster. This article describes the analysis of how local government organizations used social media during the Earthquake disaster as a tool to communicate with the public. Indonesia's national Meteorology Climatology and Geophysics council have been used social media to connect with the audience. In the case of Ambon Earthquake 2019, the organization uses local agency social media to communicate. The article finds that there is a high number of the Instagram user responding @infobmkgmaluku post during the disaster; also, the analysis shows there is a relation between the earthquake magnitude and user response.

In this case, the public relations of the Cimahi city government through its Instagram social media @cimahikota tries to provide education about preventing the spread of COVID-19. This study aims to find out information management, the reasons for using Instagram social media as an educational effort, planning for the creation of educational content, and solutions to problems that occur when conducting educational activities through social media. By using qualitative research methods with a case study approach, it is expected to be able to answer how the use of Instagram social media as an educational effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19 takes place as a whole. related to the COVID-19 pandemic, coordinate with related institutions and after that carry out validation. The social media Instagram @bpbdkaro as a source of communication and disaster information dissemination in the Karo community is no longer active. The purpose of this study was to find a disaster communication planning model in the communication and information dissemination process from the Karo Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) to the community through the Instagram @bpbdkaro social media account. This study uses qualitative evaluation research methods, data collection techniques with Focus Group Discussion and interviews with Instagram managers, the Head of Planning for the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), and field observations. Quantitative evaluation method with data collection techniques is carried out online through Google Form to 50 people who use social media randomly. The era of digitization and information disclosure makes all information very easily accessible using new media. The number of explosions of information through changes in the industrial revolution caused the shift in the function of Government Public Relations (GPR) in government institutions. The GPR of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources (KESDM) needs to make adjustments to the way it communicates with the public, one of which is by using Instagram Social Media. This study focuses on Instagram as a communication medium for MEMR using the media richness theory (Media Richness Theory) and is supported by the Computer-Mediated Communications Theory. The results show that Instagram is used as a tool for delivering GPR to the public by packaging information to be more interesting in a different way, thus making GPR provide its own wealth through Instagram in building relationships with the public.

This study was conducted to analyze the tweets of 10 brands, which are selected as social brands by BoomSocial and have the highest social score in February 2023, through their Twitter accounts after the Kahramanmaraş-centered 7.8 magnitude earthquake on Februaray 6, 2023. The brands' Twitter usage has been subjected to a comprehensive analysis with the content analysis method. In statistical analyses, relationship and differences between variables were examined using Chi Square and Kruskal Wallis Tests. The results were interpreted in a way that could shed light on the social media strategies of the brands. by presenting a comprehensive analysis of the brands' use of Twitter. The sample of the research consists of the Twitter accounts of 10 brands that were determined to have the highest social score in the February 2023 report of BoomSocial Social Media Measurement and Analysis Platform. These are respectively Baykar, Aselsan, Netflix Turkey, English Home, Land Rover Turkey, MUBI Turkey, Koç Holding, Kelebek Furniture, Turkish Petroleum and Disney+ Turkey accounts. Variables such as tweet subject (informative, emotional and help providing), tweet format (photo, video and text) and action (original and retweet) were used in data analysis. In addition, variables that measure the total engagement rates such as the number of likes, the number of retweets, the particular engagement rate and the number of @brand tweets were also taken into account. As a result, it has been seen that the tweet topic (informative, emotional and help categories) has a statistically significant effect on the number of likes, the number of retweets, the engagement rate and the number of followers tweeted to the brand and it has been determined that the tweets that appeal to the emotions of the followers can increase the interaction rate and increase the number of followers. In particular, it has been seen that tweets with the theme of help play a major role in increasing the number of followers of companies on social media.

The study analyzes the relationship between conversational applications (WhatsApp) and social media (Facebook and Instagram) through social capital in disaster mitigation at the Ciliwung Riverbank, Tugu Utara Village. This study used Mayfield's social media theory and Lasser's social capital theory in analyzing disaster mitigation. This study used a post-positivistic paradigm and combined two qualitative and quantitative approaches. Data collection techniques were carried out by direct observation, in-depth interviews, document studies, and distributing questionnaires through survey techniques. Qualitative data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model and quantitatively used descriptive statistics with correlation analysis. The results showed that the relationship between conversational media applications and social media with social capital was highly correlated and obtained a value above 0.75. The Bogasari Division serves as a means of conveying information related to information on the Instagram account @kreasibogasari. In this study, researchers used the Role of the Concept of Cyber Public Relations by Bob Julius Onggo with 6 stages, namely constant communication, fast response, global markets, interactive, two-way communication and economical. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive method and uses a post-positivism paradigm.
